Pepsi lost the cola battle, but Pepsico won the corporate battle. It spawned Yum! which operates a fast food network larger than McDonalds. And those serve Pepsi.

Generally, tho, if you go into a small time eatery and they serve Pepsi watch out. They've cheaped out everything else.

The place I ate at last night has Coke, so I am really getting a kick out of some of these replies.

And once again, a corporation is STEALING FROM IT'S EMPLOYEES PENSIONS to make more money!!!!! It's all a shell game folks and your the suckers. ODUMBO WILL STEAL YOUR 401K NEXT!!!

Hey, we're making money, but not enough money to suit the bonuses of our executives. Lets cut our matching programs and start firing people. This will in no way offend anyone.
Of course, if you're a stoner eating Cheetos and drinking Mountain Dew, you probably don't care.

I don't always drink cola.

But when I do, I prefer:

SeaWorld just announced that they are switching to Coke from Pepsi this year. So sometimes it can change back.

I shouldn't complain much though. I found a local place that has Dublin Dr. Pepper on tap. And a couple flavors of Maine Root as well.

/they also have Mexican Coke in bottles

Nothing new here.

Pepsi is always looking for the cheap edge where they keep their slaves from revolting while spending as little as possible doing it.

I don't feel strongly about this debate. Have a slight preference for Pepsi, but I'll drink either.

But the real bottom line is that either Mexican/kosher Coke or Throwback Pepsi (made with real sugar) are both so much better than either regular cola made with HFCS. Makes such a huge difference.

/am trying to cut back on the soda, though

I honestly believe there is something addictive in Diet Coke beyond just the caffeine. I know a ton of people who drink it non-stop. I can't stand it personally.

And the $75 million in savings, what percent of net profits does it represent? They could probably save nearly that amount by cutting executive pay.

Meh, I'm not surprised at cost cutting. If the competition is able to cut pensions, they are too. "Competitive" just means you make about the same with us as you would the other guy. In down times, it's a race to the bottom.

FTFA: Pepsi [PEP 66.22 -0.52 (-0.78%) ] currently offers a pension plan and a scheme where it matches contributions to 401(k) retirement savings accounts, and believes offering both is more generous than its peers, a source told the Post.

Holy shiat! Heaven forbid they actually try to pay their employees more and offer better benefits, that might be good for corporate morale and might attract better employees! Can't have that, the CEO needs a few million added to her bonus!

Seriously, I can't wrap my head around the bold part. How the f*ck is that supposed to be a bad thing??? God-damn the corporate world is f*cked up.

Race ti the goddamned bottom.

Hey look out competitor cut pay for workers, we better cut as well to stay competitive. Alternately, hey look our competitor raised executive pay, we better raise ours to stay competitive.

Pepsi can suck my dimpled white ass. One of the reasons why I lower myself to ordering Papa John's pizza is because I can get 30 decent wings and 2 liter of Coke to wash them down with.

Until last week. They are now selling Pepsi products.

Buffalo wings do not go well with Pepsi. The drink is too sweet and overpowers the layers of taste in the wings.

So Pepsi AND Papa Johns can suck my dimpled ass. Last time I order from them.

/And yes I would keep Coca Cola on hand but it goes faster around here than gold spray paint at a crack house

I drink a lot of Pepsi. Always preferred Pepsi to Coke. Drank alot of RC, then Pepsi, then Crystal Pepsi, then Pepsi as an elementary school age child. (Good job, dad!) Pepsi, Surge, then mostly Sprite throughout my teen years (my first internet persona/chatname was idrinkSprite) and then I started college and began my long-time Pepsi addiction. Sweet sweet caffeine... ahhhhh.

This sounds a lot like my story of life-long addiction. Hoping to kick that habit this year though. My personal health (especially the teeth) will be much improved for it if I succeed. Tis a terrible habit.

/Fountain coke is okay. Canned/bottled coke is terrible compared to Pepsi

TheShavingofOccam123: Buffalo wings do not go well with Pepsi.

The ironic thing about this statement is that actually in Buffalo, wings are sold and consumed everywhere, and Pepsi is the dominant soft drink, and as far as I know, no one has ever made that complaint before.

/from Buffalo
//have eaten a ton of wings with Pepsi
///beer is a better choice though

I think it's the high levels of swillarin. Or perhaps the tasteslikeshiatocide they sprinkle in it.
