Nope. Was coming in here to say this would probably be the one play not worth going to, even with a guaranteed blowie.

We can once again start calling musicals gay and it won't be in poor taste.

Chilling to think that this might actually fare better than Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark.

Can't be any worse than that Billy Joel musical. Two hours of dancing and a Billy Joel tribute band. No thanks, I'll wait until I die and go to Hell for that.

All the chicks I know that liked the books were in unhappy relationships at the time, all but 1 has left that guy.

I do think there's some correlation, either they look past the abuse and it's all romantic brain candy or their unhappiness draws them to it.

But I must confess, Meyer has made money hand-over-fist, it kinda makes me want to take a stab at writing bad fiction.

In the musical Oliver, Nancy had a song about how she's okay that Bill Sykes beats the shiat out of her "as long as he needs me!"

Teen Wolf Blitzer: Who gives a shiat? Have you seen some of the garbage on Broadway lately?

That is a very popular complaint. Yet no one ever seems to be able to back it up in any way.

What specifically are you calling "garbage"? And for what reason?

I am truly curious.

Nothing new at all.

Carousel (1945) is three hours of a man beating the shiat out of his wife.

Its one of the most achingly beautiful musicals of all time.

I should clarify. I can't find affordable tickets to Wicked. I'm willing to shell out money for a show, just not $200 per person. I get it. It's really popular. More power to Broadway.

Guys, don't panic, this is going to be freaking hilarious.

Imagine how they are going to make CreepyStalkerVamp sparkle by actually covering him with body glitter and shining a spotlight on him.

Or show ShirtlessBeefyGrump turn into a wolf by putting him in a fursuit.

Or have VacantDumbGirl sing a heartfelt song about her deep thoughts and emotions, when we all know she has none.

What I'm saying is, this show is going to actually, physically look and sound the way Twilight looks and sounds to us. I'll be amazed if anyone can even review it with a straight face.

Doesn't she just mope and moan through all the movies, while people fight over her for no explicable reason?

The producers might want to be reminded of Carrie: the Musical and its fate. But I know that's just hoping.

Yeah. Um, no.

That didn't turn out so well the first three times we tried it.

Good. They need to keep pushing this nonsense as widely as they can. It needs a spin-off cartoon series, and lunch boxes, and we need more stories of people getting twilight tattooed across their faces and so on.

It will be rough for a while but that will ultimately make the backlash all that stronger.

They will be everywhere then suddenly no where. Like the spice girls. And we can finally be free of them.

Otherwise we risk an endless series of reboots every 10 years or so.

And lest I forget, here is the dialogue that follows...

Louise Bigelow: I didn't make it up, Mother. Honest; there was a strange man her, and he hit me hard. I heard the sound of it, Mother, but it didn't hurt. It didn't hurt at all. It was just as if he kissed my hand.
Julie Jordan: Go into the house, Louise.
Louise Bigelow: What's happened, Mother? Don't you believe me?
Julie Jordan: I believe you.
Louise Bigelow: Then why don't you tell me why you're actin' so funny?
Julie Jordan: It's nothin', darlin'.
Louise Bigelow: But is it possible, Mother, for someone to hit you hard like that - real loud and hard, and it not hurt you at all?
Julie Jordan: It is possible dear, for someone to hit you, hit you hard, and it not hurt at all.

I would agree with that assessment.

But the RSC production in 94' certainly made it work well to a contemporary audience.
