From what I read of his biography he seemed so very into himself. He mentioned that he knew he was special so many times that I just got sick of it and stopped reading. I know most biographies fellate the subject but good lord it was the subject of the biography doing it.

At least he used his evil to build mostly harmless consumer devices. Throughout most of history he would have become a leader of a country (or at least a tribe) and caused terrible suffering and bloodshed.

That article was a little light on actual content.

Oh well - it's disappointing that Jobs the Businessman is becoming Jobs the Saint. Dude was a smart rich prick who dicked over most people in his life - no different than most successful businessmen (or women) I'm sure. He just did it making something a lot of creative people like and he died young.

If he had taken his money, his time and his high-profile to do more for pancreatic cancer research maybe I'd view it differently.

I think what made Jobs/Apple successful were two things.

1) He got lucky. Right place, right time. Some one has to be the lucky one (like winning a Bingo game). This gave some leverage for his ego. He had plenty of failures and again got lucky holding on to Pixar (for the wrong reasons)
2) He was willing to "bet the farm" as it were on business plans. You see it time and time again with companies scared shiatless to take a chance. There are so many examples of runaway hits in movies, music, tech, etc that all barely made it to market because the execs were scared of failure. Steve could push through his agenda and wear people down with yelling, crying, threatening they'd just give in. He did have some early failures but having a winning pick in todays global distribution economy creates a multi-billion dollar industry.

Reading his Bio (which I thought was terrible written but maybe that's how bios are done?) the guy was a nutjob supreme.

"Become?" The man had enough issues to keep a staff of shrinks working full-time.

Look: anyone who buys a new car every six months just to avoid buying license plates has a few screws loose.

The fact that he was an azzhole, screaming rage-aholic with personality problems shouldn't be a surprise to anyone.

I, too, am sick of this 'St. Steve' bullshiat.

The guy was prick and first class bully who took his insecurities out on the people that worked for him.

Some one should have told him to go fark himself.

If the psychologists need something to study, I think they should look into the minds of people who have to spew anger and hatred every time Jobs or his companies are mentioned.

He leased, he had a special contract with the dealership.

I wonder how much of his behavior was intentionally contrived to create a mystique.
