Why would anyone care whether or not it was TruTV? I've never even heard of them, much less be upset about them.

No one really wants to support a Mormon.

atleast they aren't bigoted.

If you spent the last six months hearing about the caucus, nothing but political commercials on TV and having candidates call you at all hours you'd be a little touchy about it too

"No one wants a woman in the White House. They'd rather have a black guy than a woman.

I wasn't aware that being black or a woman was a disability. "They'd" rather have a black guy because the white guys representing you are mentally handicapped.

FTA - The issue of Michelle Bachmann's electability was up for debate. Carol Granger, who spoke on behalf of Bachmann, noted in her speech, "Many pundits say she's not electable, but what do they know? They don't know. Only God knows."

"Whadda them Ivory League leetists know? They ain't God, and if'n you ain' God, we's all equals intellectly and ever' what other way too!!! Well, cept'n the coons, and the wetbacks, and the dirty filthy papists, and the heathen polygamist folk off yonder in Utah with'n their magical jammies!!!

Ah yes. Iowa voters. I always remember the old coot who was asked who she was going to vote for. She replied "We like the boy." I hope she's proud of what Dubya did to this country. I often wonder if she still likes the boy.

Lost Thought 00: Why would anyone care whether or not it was TruTV? I've never even heard of them, much less be upset about them.

They didn't and don't. It's more about modern Republicans deciding they no longer need to even pretend to be civilized people or to treat anyone else with respect. And it's about decades of their masters telling them that the press is somehow evil resulting in a deep seeded animosity toward freedom of the press.

I mean, how dare anyone ask them a question? Their party has a right to power and all others are just un-American pretenders.

2012-01-05 11:39:08 AM
It seems many Protestant Republicans are turning towards the two Roman Catholic candidates rather than a Mormon.

I never thought I'd see the day a Baptist would willingly vote for a Catholic.

Christians are scared of Mormons because Mormons have one-upped their ridiculous beliefs and proven that the crazy double-down could still be marketable.

Believe in that nonsensical Christ story? Well, brother, do I have a tale for you!

Yep... turns out Americans prefer fake reality shows about white trash repo men getting into fights with drunken midgets over getting some insight into our legal system.

P.S. It's not "True." It's "Tru." True is a word, with a clear definition. Tru is a raw phonetic syllable with no meaning whatsoever... so no griping when they blatantly script and stage "actuality" shows.

Court TV gave us Nancy Grace.
Now we all have a reason to hate on TruTV.

Have you look at the SCOTUS lately? The reason why Baptists vote for Catholics is because you can only throw a Baptist out of a congregation for supporting abortion rights for women. Catholics can be denied communion, confession and even be excommunicated by the Pope for supporting abortion rights. (Ask John Kerry about being denied communion by your bishop during a presidential campaign.) Hell is much worse than having to attend a Methodist church because the Baptists kicked you out of your church

Always remember, when it comes to questions of faith:

THE ENDS JUSTIFY THE MEANS

Huh.

I heard lots of clinging to bibles (but no guns). I saw lots of angry white folks. I saw a bunch of old people. Turns out Iowa IS filled with a bunch of yokels (I'd say 80-85%. The rest of you may be "normal" - for Iowa - but you get drowned out by the stupid).

So can we all agree that Iowa caucus-goers are exactly who we thought they were?

HAHHAHA...so my parents live in NH, and while they support the journalists and the politicians and what not coming and spending MONEY, they do not want to be bothered in any way by them.

In 2008, it got so bad that they stopped shoveling the front stairs so they couldn't ring the doorbell. One day, my mom's coming home from work and drives into the garage, and a poll worker follows her into the garage.

He follows a senior citizen into her garage. In the dark. In NEW HAMPSHIRE.

He came pretty close to getting shot.

SECOND STORY:

My dad is an IRL troll. For instance, he bought me a Sarah Palin t shirt for Christmas once. Anywhoodle, this year, he spent some considerable effort stealing Mitt Romney signs and then posting them in the yard for me to see when I drove up for Christmas. My mom gave me the heads up so I could reward him with the proper furious response.

Ahhh..family.

I'm more concerned about the paranoia. Why is Fred so afraid to divulge and additional information, even his last name? I can kinda understand not wanting to say who you voted for, that's certainly your right, but why not even give your last name?

Your percentage is a little high, I think. I live in Iowa & we have plenty of thoughtful, erudite people. I concede we have our share of derps, but it's probably closer to 60%.

I've lived all over the U.S., and the yokels have always outnumbered the scholarly.

In all likelihood she did. She just didn't find writing about them as interesting.

/The only interesting thing about this process to me is the strong and consistent undercurrent of electability *finally* bubbling to the surface.
//The correlation between agreeing with and voting for these candidates is eroding which ironically means that those who vote for the most electable are sure to guarantee their unelectability.

It's a great way to get Republican voters not to talk to people who disagree with them, too. Any question or statement that doesn't directly support a Republican is a direct threat to their beliefs and should be ignored. Liberal are demons who can't be reasoned with, so don't even try. And never listen to anything the liberal media says. The liberal media of course being anything that isn't Fox, talk radio, or some right wing think tank website.

I have a friend who always posts tons of derp on her wall (now she's on the Ron Paul train but also likes Santorum). She posts all this pro Ron Paul stuff on her wall, but deletes comments from people who disagree. She posted a comment saying "I don't care what you liberals say because I'm never gonna agree with you. I support the free market and nothing will convince me otherwise!"

Propaganda. It works.

I worked as a reporter for years and there are times when it can be frustrating, although I never did political stuff for this very reason. I don't know what this blogger's credentials are, but when I use to work for a business magazine-it was a trade magazine-hi-tech execs at events would kiss my ass when they saw the press badge and name of the pub I worked for. Of course there are those that think the media and reporters are all demons, and that they are all liberal, but I will say that in college I specifically remember the very long speech/lecture from one instructor who said you should always be as impartial as you can, and that he personally has been registered as an independent for the better part of his life. I think he still writes for the San Jose Mercury news.
