I'd like you to join me in my little fairy tale world where it turns out not one cent of the money in the bank went missing.

Although I'm pretty sure that was still locked up and safe (I think that the safe/cash drawers all have to be unlocked with physical keys to open, and the locked to retrieve the key back.), it was just the lobby left unsecured.

What's stupid is they gave the exact location of the branch, like painting a target on it and yelling on a bullhorn that the weekend crew forgets to lock up. I expect there to be a follow-up next weekend where robbers were caught after walking in.

This is how they are going to write off the bad mortgages. They'll just claim they were stolen.
