Watch out for ferals!

The last one is already happening, subby.

Make sure to take the Bloody Mess perk. It's a lot more entertaining, and could make sessions of Congress truly epic.

I think I'd rather see mutants raging than hipsters jogging.
At least you can shoot the mutants.

Make sure its a feral and not one of the good ones. Felt bad when I had to kill all the muties in the sewers for the tower... Well, I didn't kill them. Just made the tower people take them in.

Or we could switch over to Thorium reactors and win all around.

To be fair, this is Virginia... where guns are plentiful.

And it would make all that time in Fallout 3 seem like less a waste and more like 'worthwhile preparation'.

You're in for a rude awakening - things are actually way further apart than portrayed. You'll need to work on cardio, too.

// which, if you played F3, you probably should do, anyway

Use it up before someone else can. Stop thinking about the future, your kids hate you.

I live in the DC area and within the last 2 months or so I've been to two gun shows... One in Dulles, VA and the other in Annapolis, MD.

The Dulles gun show was literally something like 8 - 10 times bigger than the one in Annapolis. At the Annapolis show there were only two tables with guns, in Dulles something like 75% of the tables in that huge show were guns being sold. The prices in the Annapolis show were more expensive by $100 or more compared to the average price for the exact same model of gun at the Dulles show. In Dulles they had these cables running through all the guns being sold, so you could pick them up and hold them - in Annapolis those sad two tables had their guns under netting so you couldn't just pick them up and get a feel for them.

And last but not least... In Dulles my buddy bought a gun at the show, filled out the paperwork and walked out of the show with it. In Annapolis you have to buy the gun, fill out the paperwork...... and then pick the gun up from the store you bought it from like a week later.

Considering VA isn't a huge blood orgy, and MD actually has more violent crime despite the greater restrictions... I think VA is doing it right.

I used to live in rural NC and a billboard would go up every few months for a gun and knife show. The n's were backward on the sign, and they weren't being cute about it. Stayed far away from that Delivence-fest.

MD shares a land border with high(est)-crime DC - VA is separated by water. MD also has PG County. MD also has higher population density. MD also has looser ballot requirements for primary elections.

I guess what I'm saying is, it's not just the gun laws. Marylanders are a weird bunch.

Anyone who's driven the beltway can confirm this ...

Back to TFA (actually read it, since I live in southern VA), it seems to say, in answer to the question "Can Uranium be safely mined?":

"Uhm, depends..."

/didn't get much info out of it

Why are they promoting SyFy Saturday movies in the Geek thread?

/starring Dirk Benedict, Denise Crosby, Miley Cyrus, and Bronson Pinchot as the government official.

Oh, most certainly there are a number of factors at play, but I certainly think the differences do highlight how the greater restrictions in MD don't accomplish what they were supposed to... and could possibly make things *worse*.

Maybe Uranium Yellow will become available again. It used to be a very popular dye and ceramic glaze pigment. Apparently the color positively glowed.

[enters thread panting] You know Fallout 3 took place in and around DC, with Vault 101 in Ol' Virginny!!!

Walker: Yes we are.

Damned if I can figure out how, but all indicators seem to show VA is doing it right.

Although, out of the Counties of Princes... William is a lot less trouble than George's.

Baghdad is a lot less trouble than PG County.

So, there would be no appreciable difference in Arlington or Alexandria?
