Nice headline Subby. It looked to me like Clemson ran out of gas; as if they didn't maintain their conditioning during the Holidays. After the 1st quarter the Clemson players were all dragging ass. Fun game to watch.

Oddly enough the game was competitive until the goal line fumble-99 TD return. After that, Clemson just collapsed in epic fashion. Clemson was a yard away from taking the lead midway through the second quarter, then the Jenga tower collapsed...badly...

The ACC went 2-6 in their bowl games. There's not a lot you can constructively say about that.

In the second quarter, Clemson was about to run it in for a TD to go up 24-21. Andre Ellington apparently fumbled right at the goal line, and a WVU player took it back for a score. I say "apparently," because the review showed a pile of people mashed together, and you really couldn't tell if (1) he was down before the fumble or (2) he crossed the goal line before he fumbled. At any rate, the call stood, the momentum completely shifted, and Clemson added a couple more turnovers in the quarter for good measure. Implosion city -- which is where Clemson liked to be in its losses this year.

Tough loss, but they'll get over it. I suspect the defensive coordinator is going to get the boot, though. Someone has to take a fall after giving up 70.

Goddamn it, Vippy Sue, you couldn't pull it off against Clemson at least once? I mean, damn! Then maybe Va Tech could've beat WVU, Clemson beat Auburn- again- FSU beat Notre Dame, UVA beat Utah, Georgia Tech beat Cowbell U, Wake Forest beat Air Force, and UNC still get stomped all over, but at least we'd have looked presentable in bowl games.

At least my team (GT) made it to overtime before losing.

I dunno about you guys, but I am glad I am not in Morgantown this morning -- too much couch burning.

WVU better enjoy this win because it may be the last bowl game they go to in a long time. Just because they beat Clemson like this doesn't excuse the fact that they lost to Syracuse, Louisville, and Rutgers. There is no way they make it to a bowl with three conference losses in the Big 12.

I have watched many games where you can point to one play that changed the game, but I have never seen such an epic collapse after a play like that one. Up to that point it looked like it was going to be a high scoring shootout between two teams with a good offense and no defense. After that play, it immediately turned into a high scoring blowout.That wasn't a 14 point turnaround. It was more like a 50 point turnaround.

The good thing about this one, as a Clemson fan, was that I could go ahead and get over the loss long before the game was even over. You take your silver linings where you can find them.
Still, Clemson should still be pretty good next year if they can figure out this whole "defense" thing.
