There is a statue of him at Madam Touseau's (sp) Wax Museaum. They did a special about the place on the discovery channel, and one of the things they showed was someone rubbing his head.

What happened? Did she stop enjoying "Locutus" in the sack when she kept getting blinded with the strap-on laser pointer?

Ah, i'm stupid. I can see the filmography above. I shut up now.

I guess he found out that resistance was not futile, after all.

Patrick Stewart, soon to star as the captain of the U.S.S. Lottatail...

Again I say, women who insist on keeping their own last name are usually not marriage material.

Hear, hear (or is it "here, here"?).

Also, if open the door on the passenger side and let her in her side of the car, and then as you're walking around to the drivers side she doesn't flip the lock up for you, then dump her... she only thinks of herself.

"Did she stop enjoying "Locutus" in the sack when she kept getting blinded with the strap-on laser pointer?"

The Piccard maneuver can get old fast and she started hankering for a little deep space nine. Number One in the number 2, if you know what I mean. Man the helm and all that. Pip pip cherry-o, wot wot.

I have a few questions about this.

1. Why does anyone care about this?

2. How can it be news anymore when some actor or actress files for divorce? Divorce among film actors now is so common it would only be news if they didn't get divorced after a number of years. And this isn't even a divorce, it's filing for separation.

3. Why was this posted? This is a waste of space. Sure, if Steward killed his wife or something, then it might be a little bit interesting. But "Patrick Stewart files for legal separation from wife" as an article on Fark? WTF?

4. I don't get the tag line, Patrick Stewart's wife realizes she made mistake, he wasn't the star of "Ghandi" What the hell is that supposed to mean?

Anyone else notice that Stewart's playing a character called "Obie BEN KINGSLEY"
show's her!

Webgrunt

1. Lots of web geeks are Trek geeks. Plus, Wil Wheaton, a TNG actor, is a long time farker, so TNG items are usually of interest to Fark.
2. You have a point - but "truck catches fire" is always a sexier news item than "truck doesn't catch fire."
3. See 1. and 2.
4. Patrick Stewart looks like Ben Kingsley. The headline suggests his wife thought she was married to Kingsley all these years.

Maybe he filed for divorce after she showed off her old saggy fun bags to the whole freaking world in this dress.

Patrick and Ben are supposedly good friends.

"1. Why does anyone care about this?"

He's a fondly regarded actor and a thread like this allows us to trot out our lamest Trek puns and references. That's all it takes for me.

Speaking of trotting things out....

The irony's probably lost on me
as tomorrow's my first colostomy

The Doc's roto-rooting will answer:
Is it hemorrhoids or is it cancer?

Striking undignified poses
Far from smelling like roses.

That's my immediate future
Be gentle I don't want no sutures!

My wife is crazy about him. I'll have to start keeping a closer eye on her.

By the way, all you farkettes who say you think he's sexy would probably not say that except for his amazing voice. Tell me you would still be as attracted if he had a voice like Screech.

In need a foolish dumb fop? That's me!
I meant to type colonoscopy.
See, one's a surgery one's a test.
I'm still an asshole who gets no rest.

"No more rhymes now, I mean it!"

"Anybody got a peanut?"

"GAH!"

I wonder at whom that was aimed?
It's surely me that should get blamed.
That referencing The Princess Bride
should make Rob Reiner beam with pride

Ban the poems but not the poet?
I disagree, but then, you'd know it.
I'll try to keep my rhymes in check
instead of darning you to heck.

I've finished up my third drear glass
of liquid brewed to cleanse my ass
Now damn, I thought I could resist
Instead, in rhyming I persist.

The bad news is: I'm here all day
so banning is the only way
to stop this onslaught of lame verse
at which your lips you've tightly pursed.

It bears repeating that it's "Gandhi", not "Ghandi". As in the Solid Gandhi Dancers. Geez.

His voice has nothing to do with why *I* think he's sexy!

she's the only who really understands what gets me...oops! guess not!

Stewart as Oberon in Royal Shakespeare Company's "Midsummer Night's Dream", 1977.

I don't know, she looks pretty sweet. But yeah, I bet Patrick Stewart could get a lot of tail, I've known a lot of hot chicks who found him hot.

And Picard could kick Kirk's ass anyday, especially since he bulked up for the movies (he's got some mad muscle going in _Insurrection_).

That is kind of sad, though.

Btw, Stewart and Ben Kingsley don't really look that much alike, anymore than Capt. Picard looks anything like Capt. Stubing, or Yul Brynner for that matter.

I'm guessing it's the sort of irreconcilable differences that arise when eighty billion other women are clamoring for his penis.

I just like to say clamoring for his penis.

ProgrammerCat,
He played Sejanus in I, Claudius. Does anyone know if He was one of the Hawk Men in the 1980 movie Flash Gordon? I seem to recall this but it was such a bad movie I had to have a beer or two so it could be a barley water induced mirage.

2003-10-16 02:08:48 AM
Bloodhound, you may be thinking of Brian Blessed, an actor with a great booming voice, as played Prince Vultan, leader of the Hawkmen. He's in fine form as King Richard IV in the first "Black Adder" series as well.

IMDB doesn't show Stewart as being involved with Flash Gordon, but he did appear as Leondegrance in Excalibur in 1981. Most of his work prior to that was either on stage or in television.
