Its funny, my friend remembered that in the Midwest, old time farmer guys used to smoke it in public-before the general outawing of it. Even afterwards, most small rural towns turned a blind eye to the old timers smoking it.

But the sad fact is they outlawed it because the blacks were using it. And that it was competition with cigarettes. And the Pharmaceutical companies didn't like the competition. And the lumber/paper barons hated them. Or it could be that you act like a freaking moron on the shiat, and could endanger other people lives.

I happen to like it myself, but recognize the possible lung cancer/impared actions that accompany it.

Honestly the only inconvenience I can chalk up to pot smoking is the occasional lost/stoned tourist who stumbles into my local cafe and then talks loudly about the sorts of highs you can get from smoking vs brownies or what have you. Most of the time they keep to the tourist ghettos though so it's all good.
