For all of you war-profiteers who think a little war might make you a lot of money and jump start our economy...
Iran is 4 times the size of Iraq. We sent 1.5 million US military personnel into Iraq over 9 years. On multiple 15 month combat tours with little time off between.
Don't listen to the idiots who claim war with Iran is our duty or a way to make a quick buck. We will end up breaking our military, probably in part by re-instituting the draft.
It is not the duty of the US military to fight war after war in the Middle East and its surroundings.

iraq was different though - a collection of tribal groups who have hated eachother for millenia stitched together by the british and forced to live together as a country. of course invading them and upsetting the balance was going to cause chaos. iran though, those guys are clearly craving freedom from their despotic and tyrannical leadership and will surely greet us as liberators with flowers and oil and sweet persian poon.

Obama supporters, so confident in his re-election victory over the GOP's Santorum/Paul ticket, don't come out to vote, leading to a write-in victory for Sarah Palin, who, the day after the election, somehow gets ahold of the nuclear football and launches an all-out attack on Great Britain when The Sun prints a picture of her ass looking all saggy in a pantsuit.

If Iran attacks our ships in the Gulf or Strait of Hormuz, we're going to war with Iran. Otherwise, no.
If Iran gets too close to getting the bomb, Israel will attack them way before we would be ballsy/crazy enough to do so.
And in no scenario will we be committing land troops unless it is to secure coastal oil supplies.
Although these predictions are just my opinion, you can take them all to the bank as irrefutably true.

No more war.
You'll break our military, and cause riots at home that'd make Vietnam look like a day in the park.
Iran would have to nuke Jerusalem to get the American people behind that war, and you'd have the world against them in that case.

There is a massive push to get the US involved in a war with Iran.
No western country will go in with the US this time. This will be a US only show, and it will be a mess. Russia will be pissed, China will be pissed, the US will have lost the last of its good will built up during WWII. You'll see a massive shift towards China as the world's good guy (which is stupid, I know), and you'll see Europe move towards bringing Russia into the fold (stupid, I know).
About the only western country who won't completely abandon you will be Canada, and that is because they want you to guy their tar oil, and help build a big pipeline to bring in more cash.
The prediction that China will eclipse the US in 2025 will be changed to 2017.

I have no idea if you're trolling or not, but I was in college in 02-04. We met a guy from Iraq, who was ecstatic about the US invasion. He had personally had family members be captured and tortured by Saddam and his retards. He was an intelligent, reasonable guy, and he was just over the moon about the whole thing. Couldn't be happier.
It's funny this comes up, my wife and I were just discussing it the other day. I really think Iran will be a big problem. Maybe not in 2012, but in the next while, things will be tense, and there will most likely be a conflict.
Aside from that, strange that North Korea's not mentioned anywhere. I think ol' Un'ny is even loonier than his dad, and things are about to get a whole lot crazier.
I think some things are needed. and I think that North Korea needs to be marched on to shut down their concentration camps. Yes it could/would start a war, but I don't think anyone hesitated to march on Hitler because it was just escalate things. There are horrific atrocities being committed in that screwy country every second of the day. It really needs to be stopped.

#13 and 14 are the only two predictions I am willing to bet will happen. Cause that's well... Been happening pretty much every time (year) that there's been a prediction of such.
Cheating always happens at the Olympics. That's nothing new.
The end of the world was suppose to happen how many times last year. There was a doomsday in every month. So the same goes for this year too.
And the whole Science Vs Religion has been going on for centuries. Nothing new there either.

But there is no incentive to help them. They have no oil or natural resources to speak of.

TruTV has some pretty loose definitions of "conspiracy."
-War with Iran? That would be awful, but military intervention has been widely discussed.
-Olympic cheating? While that may fit the legal definition of conspiracy, it's hardly something worth getting worked up over. It happens every time.
-The internet getting censored? Again, something awful, but widely and publicly discussed. Was it a CONSPIRACY when they added speed limits?
-I might buy the human cloning thing. That's going to happen eventually. But fearless super soldiers? in -2012? They made a sheep 15 years ago that died prematurely, weak and sickly. If they made some sort of fearless goat next year, I'll start panicking.
-Discovering the Higgs Boson would hardly disprove religion. Those who are going to take issue with it are the same people who tried to sue CERN out of existence because it might create a black hole that would eat us.
-Finally, the world NOT coming to an end is a "conspiracy?" Just how easy is it to froth conspiracy-theorists into a rage? Are they disappointed at this? Surprised, even?
Next up on TruTV! I failed to take a clean dump this morning, ran out of toilet paper, so I took a shameful shower. Conspiracy?!

Why would Israel incur any risk when it can just get the US to do it for them? If Israel did anything to Iran it could cause a regional conflict which would be very risky for Israel. They certainly don't want that. If the US did it for them, though, the worst that would happen is that thousands upon thousands of Iranians would die.
And no one in Jerusalem, the State Department, or the Pentagon gives a shiat about that.
And in no scenario will we be committing land troops unless it is to secure coastal oil supplies.
Probably not, but that doesn't mean we won't inevitably be dropping fiery death upon Iranians from the skies.

It depends on whether or not the Iranians would fight 'fairly' pitting their weaknesses against the US military's strength or if they might decide go all asymmetrical and unfairly attack the US at its weak points. It would be really embarrassing to learn that a defence budget to the combined budgets of the entire rest of the planet does not cut it when it comes to fighting anything but small impoverished nations without smart military leaders.
