This is where photoshop is a good thing.

Accidentally?

French people don't get naked ACCIDENTALLY!

But *everything* is photoshopped. Are they seriously saying that the guy who photoshopped that one didn't see the penis? I call shenanigans on it.

X-rated?

I see the NAMBLA Spring fashion line is now for sale.

I think the fail part was assuming that this is an accident. The controversy will get them millions of dollars worth of advertising for free, and will make them "edgy".

There has been no response yet from La Redoute and the offensive picture in question remains on its site.

mexican bathtub cheese: X-rated?

Agreed. It's just a dick, he wasn't cornholing the kids.

Maybe he/she fight-clubbed it by photoshopping the guy in.

"SCANDALE!" one user wrote, as another noted that with the children on the beach, the nudity was "un deuxième Fail pour la Redoute."

I don't know why I find this so amusing, but I do.

C'mon, it's a guy in the original pic. That's obviously a French woman you shooped in.

If this was La Redoute's second Fail, what could have been the first, I wonder.

Seems to me the kids are saying "Naked French pedo. Run for your lives!!!"

2012-01-04 09:05:27 AM
People are upset that they have to look at kids and a penis in the same picture. What about the photo crew and stage moms who put the kids on the same beach as a penis?

Someone needs to tell him to manscape.

1) The entire crew and kids were all on the same beach with this guy, presumably for some period of time before the photo was taken.

2) Nobody noticed, or thought enough of it to raise a flag.

3) Enter the Jesus-freaks...

I hope they told him to please go back to naked land.

Even if the guy was wearing swim trunks, you would think he would be Shopped out as to not be a distraction from the kids in the ad.

2012-01-04 09:22:11 AM
How about photo crew takes picture of guy minding his own business on the beach, dressed in traditional french swimming fashion, and publishes it without his permission?

The rest of the world isn't as hung up with self-loathing (and probably self-loving) as backwards, puritanical Americans...

I see I'm not needed here - well done, sir.

I have a hard time believing this got published without anyone realizing it was there. That would be multiple layers of failure.

So there's a naked guy in the background. BFD. I will never understand people who are upset by nudity.

Check out the rest of the site...the nekkid man in the background is consistent with everything else.

Oh my God, a penis! Frightening. Scandalous...

I work with large retail companies all the time on catalog shoots. They are more incompetent than clever. Retailers like this are full of people who don't want to rock the boat when it comes to marketing, which is why you can't tell one from another most of the time. Sort of like how if one works with the government enough, you realize that conspiracy theories are all BS because they're too incompetent or beauracratic to really pull them off.

That said, this is an amazing farkup. I find it highly unlikely nobody in the chain of production from shoot to web noticed the naked man. My guess is a disgruntled retoucher put it there and it was batch uploaded into the catalog software with a bunch of others.

It was probably a nude beach, and the regulars were getting annoyed at the freaks running around, dressing kids, and then taking photos of them.

2012-01-04 12:37:21 PM
"Accidently"? Yeah, I wish I had thought of that. Dang judge said I can't go back, though.

2012-01-04 12:59:18 PM
At least it wasn't too embarrassing for the man. Imagine if you couldn't see anything and they identified him.

2012-01-04 02:12:18 PM
People who think just showing a penis is X-rated should have theirs amputated at birth.

Dear Jerk: People are upset that they have to look at kids and a penis in the same picture. What about the photo crew and stage moms who put the kids on the same beach as a penis?

Why does it matter? Those kids, even if they noticed him, wouldn't care that there is a naked man in the water. The only people who care are adults.

I'm thinking the kids are photoshopped onto the beach picture. I know it's a photoshop because...pixels...etc, etc, etc.

2012-01-04 10:48:50 PM
Does that shirt say "ready everyday"?

2012-01-05 08:54:56 AM
Oh no! I'll never buy cthese lothes for my kids again because sometimes people are naked and this reminded me of that fact!
