If Palin follows suit, that is truly the french kiss of death.

That endorsement is sure to change the mind of...no one.

Seems like Palin would endorse Santorum or Gingrich (or Perry, but, he'll be out in a few days).

I'm not saying there is an enthusiasm gap, but I think there will be plenty of spare hotel space for whoever wins the general election.

Of course, now the thought of Palin frenching Smugly McSmirkerson kind of makes me want to puke.

How dare you people insult Sen. John McCain like this! Sen. McCain knows what it takes to be President. He knows how to really flip-flop on issues to cater to the Republican base. Who else had the balls to come out in favor of torture after being tortured every day for five years by the Viet Cong? John McCain knows good Republicans when he sees them.

WTF Indeed: John McCain knows good Republicans when he sees them.

The sad part is that John McCain v.2000 probably would have been a good president. Not like it would have been hard to be better than W, but it's sad how otherwise reasonable conservatives have to jump on the crazy train to get the nomination (i.e. McCain v.2008).

Former Republican Presidential Candidate Endorses Establishment Republican.

Yawn.

How does this endorsement help him with anyone?

Independents don't like McCain.
Real Conservative don't like McCain.
Democrats don't like McCain.

The dude lost and is endorsing the guy that lost t him in 2008?

Holy shiat GOP you need some new blood.

Is this the same McCain that has been embarrassing himself by behaving like a deranged angry old man for the last 3 years?

Great endorsement Romney!

2012-01-04 11:11:58 AM
Romney doesn't want to bankrupt the country chasing gays so I'm somewhat ok with this.

The only thing that can stop Obama is 3rd party challenge -- or another terror attack on US soil. Too early to give you odds on those...

Dear Republicans,

Now you know what it feels like to have John Kerry win your nomination. Enjoy.

If you think Obama has the election won, you haven't been paying attention to pretty much anything. Plan on being up late on election night because it's going to be a close one.

2012-01-04 11:13:40 AM
Uh, subby, wouldn't those be the same hotel rooms that would be booked if Romney gets elected?

Given Romney's trouble with the idiot/uber conservative wing of the GOP, I think just what he needs is the endoresement of someone who had the exact same problem in the last election.

Republicans like old, familiar things. In 2008, Romney was a new candidate for President. In this election, he's the guy voters remember from the last election. "He seems normal this time."

Democrats seem to like new candidates. "Woohoo, he's hot! He might go all the way!"

All the democrats need to do is hire Jason Bateman to put on a suit, look at the camera with a puzzled look, and say "him?"

Charles Walch · University of North Texas:
We all hate Mormons, even Mormons hate Mormons. Take it from a Mormon. You see, Mormons are the ultimate elite Satan worshipers. No temple recomend and you are out. You are not able to participate in secret oaths and secret practices, etc. Mormon men think they are going to be Gods, if they just do enough to make the grade. Mormons do not think salvation, they think exaltation ( becoming a God). Makes a Christian sick. Mormans want you to read the Book of Mormon and pray about it, and ignore Brigham Young and other Church founders and their wife swaping, horn-dog activities, and their personal enrichment from tithing used as capital for business activities.

I guess I just don't get how it helps to have a losing candidate give the candidate that lost to him an endorsement.

Not only that but as others here have stated, this is no way helps Romney's issues with the base, the middle, or the left.

She prefers the muted nutty tones of a Santorum over the bitter taste of the pan-irish Gingrich... A Perry is good for the long haul, they're much to sugary. Mixologist tend to forget one of the Perry's three main ingredients. It's stirred, not shaken.

Some pundits were talking about that difference. Republicans take turns. It's Romney's turn now.

The fact that Romney made a lot of money by buying companies, firing all of the workers, and then selling the pieces.

The fact that Romney, like all of the other Republicans, would rather tax the poor and middle class than allow tax increases on the rich. They'd rather cut vital social services instead of allowing tax increases on the rich. They'd rather cut military benefits instead of allowing tax increases on the rich. They'd rather die than allow tax increases on the rich.

Yeah well, just to be fair, "any rational conservative" would still be a pain in the ass if he were elected to the Presidency.

Just an observation. I wan't commenting on the value of that behavior. Although it doesn't seem like it's working too well for them. McCain got his turn and lost. Romney will probably get his, but his chances in the general are iffy at best.

You can't be a Dem and be a true idealogue. Trust me. You can start out an idealogue but eventually cynical pragmatism comes and chokes out all that hope.

Obama will absolutely own any GOP candidate on foreign policy. I can't recall the last time one party has so completely and utterly owned what's traditionally been a real or perceived strength of the other party.

But for the lulz I'd like to see Romney tell us all again how Obama farked up pulling US troops out of Iraq as promised.

You could, but you'd be wrong.

I left the Republican Party after the Clinton sex scandal. And they've gotten a lot worse since.
