i dunno, when i had street parking, they plowed the snow like twice a day in the winter just so they could hand out more parking tickets.

I haven't lived in Chicago for 5 years, but when I was there the plows were pretty reliable.

The city is also launching an "Adopt-a-Sidewalk" shoveling initiative where Chicago residents can soon visit the site and sign up to be a part of the program, the release said.

Heh. Why do we even pay taxes? Go fark yourself, government.

Hand shovels out to the homeless.

Problem solved.

Came in here to say something about these being the excellent services we pay the high taxes for but I see my work has already been done.

Fark you Illinois. Fark you in the face. The U.S. capitol of corruption and crony capitalism. Can't wait to be gone.

Are the neighborly snow shovels provided or are they self procured?

Chicago snow plows are nothing like NYC snow plows, subby. In Chicago, they actually attempt to get the job done.

What snow?

Last February we had the 3rd biggest storm on record in Chicago, 20 inches overnight.

The major streets were plowed when I stepped out at 7am. Took me all of15 extra minutes to get to work on the CTA.

They should arm their snow plowers like Philadelphia arms its car towers. That'll provide incentive, or at the very least a TLC reality show.

Cheesehead_Dave: What snow?

For serious. I moved away to a land of no snow and have not seen the wonderful thing I grew up with for a few years. I returned home for two weeks expecting to go sledding and throw snowballs. Nothing. DAMN YOU GLOBAL WARMING!

/Also someone cue Ranier Wolfcastle for that guy

BS. The plows are very reliable in Chicago, and the surrounding suburbs.

Chicago is a town that voted out a mayor for poor response to a snowstorm, the plows do great these days.

Excellent! This "Plow Tracker" will make my stated purpose that much easier. Flame on!

THIS. Chicagoans don't give a shiat how corrupt our city is, as long as the snow gets removed.

I want a website where I can place a virtual lawn chair to hold my virtual parking spot for several days after I virtually cleared the virtual snow off of my virtual street.

Me too, but I'd also like to have the ability to virtually key your virtual car when you move my virtual lawn chair to park in my virtual spot.

I remember when the history channel actually showed history stuff they did a documentary on this. About how the city paid a "consultant" a ton of money for a "snow action plan" that was never there and when they got it during the storm the pages were still warm from the press. Didnt some plow driver flip out for working too many triple shifts and kill someone?
