Who? Oh yeah, Keanu Reeves but more stoned. And one of the seven villains in the last Spider-Man movie.

If it is anywhere near as scintillating as his stint as Oscars host, it should greatly cut in to the stock value of Ambien and Lunesta.

I think he missed a step in the becoming the "Kevin Bacon of his generation" playbook. Shouldn't he be forming a band instead of writing a book?

I don't think that's fair. He was damn good in 127 hours.

His acting's OK, his Spaghetti-O's rock.

Rise Of The Planet Apes was fantastic, despite Franco.

Sadly,lightning won't strike twice.

I enjoyed his previous book, Palo Alto.

I grew up there myself, and his fictionalized tales of being a kid there ring true to me.

He was awesome in Pineapple Express.

All kinds of this.

Wait, wait. This fictionalized account of Franco's experience as an actor and student, does it include the time an ex-professor of his alleged that he was fired because he flunked Franco after Franco only attended one class?

Damn straight. 127 was most deservedly nominated for best picture and he carried that movie like a fully loaded frame pack across the vast and unforgiving canyonlands.

Why the dislike for James Franco? He's a pretty good actor and seems like a really laid back guy.

I remember fark used to be gobbling all over him about 8 months back. I think he must have hit that "in the news cycle more then twice a month, so we now hate him" threshold.

It's fun to hate people who, although famous, are normal people.

So this is his stint at being Bruce Campbell?

//enjoyed "Make Love! The Bruce Campbell Way", though

Reviewer gives it a D and get fired... later says he was just being nice and it should have been an F.

/can't understand why everyone is on this guy's jock.

I never knew anything about him until I heard him being interviewed on Fresh Air. During that interview, he came across as stupid and vain and just trying way too hard to show how cool and laid back he was. So I perceived him as stupid, vain, and trying too hard.

His Oscar gig was testament to my perception.

I literally was thinking this morning that it's been a long time since we've heard anything about him (so much so that I couldn't even remember his name).

This book thing will maybe confirm that we'll be hearing less and less in the coming months.

I've never seen him do anything that makes me think "wow, that guy is really self-important".

The only self-importance I see is coming from the Farker's in this thread.

Malkovich? Malkovich!

Malkovch, Mlakovich.

His writing, at least the stuff I read, blows. His academic work of the last few years is sprinkled with over-entitled, douchebag behavior. The idea of his first novel being about himself is enormously self-indulgent.

And you think we on fark are trolling?

/You'd better flush out your head, Eshman.
