Well, there went any chance at all that I'd vote for Romney.

Projection? In my Republican Party? No way.

Is Mitt predicting that the Dems will take both the House and the Senate? Sweet!

All Americans (that means you and me, not the godless canadians and other foreigners) should be free to buy any company they wish and then gut it, divide it's assets and fire its employees and make a butt load of profit. That's the American way. And if you don't like it, move to China.

Mitt Romney talks out of his ass so much that I'll bet his couch cushions are deaf.

Who is THIS Mitt Romney fella anyway? It sure doesn't sound like the Mitt Romney who was governor of MA.

He forgot to say, "I'm rubber, and Obama is glue."

I'm sure that he'll let Bachmann make the point that the Obama's dine on lean fetus flesh, so as not to appear petty.

Phew, we must have dodged a bullet; I mean, the guy has been president for 3 years and has not done any of these things. If this has been his diabolical plan all along we should consider ourselves lucky that he has been too lazy to start any of it.

Egh, It's an odd shaped house (L shaped) AND it's built onto a hill on a couple of levels, AND it's being photographed from from an odd angle. It's no wonder it looks all wonky.

Eh, you forgot about Obamacare. You know, it's every American's right not to be held responsible for providing health insurance for their family through employer or personal pay policies and just go to the ER and get treated "for free!"

Mitt Romney has the personality of cardboard.

Also, he should be run over by a steamroller and reincarnated as a poor black woman.

So what you're saying is that, at the end of the day, he's just as big a dick as all the other GOP contenders? Color me shocked.

I listen to what the GOP says and read what they write, and it just keep driving me to vote straight Democrat.

I hate both parties. Neither one deserves to lead this country. I have no desire to vote for Democrats based on their shoddy policies or empty promises.

But sweet FSM, does the GOP need to die.

The fore, back, and all other grounds that aren't the house or are close enough you'd risk hitting it with the blur tool while hurrying in photoshop are blurred equally. And trees that are sharp magically blur when they cross that line (look near the roofline).

Need Help Soonish: Egh, It's an odd shaped house (L shaped) AND it's built onto a hill on a couple of levels, AND it's being photographed from from an odd angle. It's no wonder it looks all wonky.

It just seems that the DoF behind the house is too shallow. The range of focus should be longer behind the subject than in front of it, and a shot being taken at that distance should be getting close to infinity as far as the lens is concerned. It looks more like a miniature taken with a macro lens than an actual, unshopped picture taken with a telephoto from such a distance.

Ah, yes. You can really see it in the tree trunks just above the roof. Looks like the background has been hit with a blur tool.

Guess that explains it.

bravian: If this is how Romney is going to run his campaign in the general election - game over.

This is Mitt Romneybot we're talking about; he's currently running in teabagger mode, but that's easy enough to fix. If he wins the nomination, they'll wipe his hard drive and load up some more moderate general election software. If they do the clean reinstall correctly, he should have no memory whatsoever of anything that happened during the primary.

Ah, the two groups of people you can still get away with being a bigot about: Religious and Fat people.

The first because they are supposed to love even their enemies (OK, not some, but most), and second because they couldn't chase you down to beat the crap out of you.

Man, I just love some people's delicious and ironic natures... you know the Christians who forget they're supposed to love others and the liberal twits (not all liberal are twits, just some) who preach tolerance and acceptance - except for these two groups.

Oh, yeah, I'm a Christian. I'm also a liberal. I know from actually studying my Bible that Jesus didn't wear a "Vote GOP" button on his robe and that he was (and still is) a radical social justice supporter who had a lot more good to say about the poor, sick, old, young, downtrodden, afflicted, abused etc than he did about the rich. Most of what he said about the rich was admonishing them about not taking advantage of everyone else and using their resources to help everyone else out.

Finally, if you don't want to believe that whole "Son of God" thing or that God created to universe (14 billion years ago - not all of us are "young earth creationists"), that's fine. So, why do you have to make fun of me because I happen to believe and it helps me cope?

Has anyone noticed that Romney's business experience qualifications for President are, "I laid off American workers and sent their jobs overseas, after I got the job because my daddy was rich and a famous politician?"

VictorOfBorge: Ah, the two groups of people you can still get away with being a bigot about: Religious and Fat people.

Don't forget white people and "country folk". We are bigoted against them, too.

The Great Divider: Yes, because racists can't stand the idea of a black man in the White House. So, you still buy in to that mark of Ham, do you, Romney?

2012-01-03 10:36:42 PM
My god... Romney is going to win this thing. He's going to take the Republican nomination, and he's going to edge Obama over the line to take the Presidency. America "did the right thing" and elected a black guy for once, and now they can heap all their failures and venialities on him, and return power to their preferred demographic, which is to say Brylcreemed old white guys of unfathomable wealth.

You saw it here first: Mitt Romney will be America's next President, and whatever he's saying now, you'd better be prepared to hear it from the bully pulpit for at least four years. And unless the Republicans lose control of the House for that entire time, be prepared for it to be the basis for all your new legislation as well.

2012-01-03 10:37:07 PM
And then if President Obama so much as mentions Romney we'll hear all about how Obama is a negative campaigner.

So lemme get this right.... you pretty much admit that you believe in "God" because it's a coping mechanism your mind needs in order to deal with the harshness of reality, yet you don't understand why we are making fun of you for it?

Really??

REALLY????

Make us a welfare state by using policies like the ones Romney inacted in the state he ran?

2012-01-03 10:41:54 PM
The GOP is going to have a lot of fun dealing with the fallout from this reckless stirring of the skinhead pot. Those guys have been stocking ammo for over two years, drooling in anticipation of a "race war." The circus clowns are getting perilously close to saying, "The problem with America is ni-BONGs."

Once the yahoos start shooting, these same clowns will scoff at the mere suggestion that a rash of shooting rampages could in any way be attributed to them. "All I said was that America is being destroyed by black welfare queens, I never said we should shoot them. So far as you know."

2012-01-03 10:45:14 PM

Because it's not true. And in order to be a moral person you are forced to flat out reject the majority of the morality displayed in the Bible. As for coping, I'm sorry. I'm not going to respect your choice of emotional crutch if it leads large numbers of its adherents into batshiat insanity.

The biggest mistake of the Nicene Council was not ejecting the entirety of the Old Testament. Trying to get an all-knowing god of love out of a dim-witted Jewish war god has been a never-ending exercise in futility and failure.
