Did you know that the Loch Ness surface goes up and down by just 1.5mm when the monster gets out to towel off?

Yeah, but you know the government will just cover it up and say it's "tides" or something lame like that. Just like with Roswell and Area 51.

Last week, Japanese scientists explaced... placed explosive detonators at the bottom of Lake Loch Ness to blow Nessie out of the water. Sir Cort Godfrey of the Nessie Alliance summoned the help of Scotland's local wizards to cast a protective spell over the lake and its local residents and all those who seek for the peaceful existence of our underwater ally.

With Scotland rolling with the tides, pitching with the rebound from the last glaciation and yawing with the winds, no wonder my Scot ancestors had to take a wee nip of ginger beer or Whisky from time to time to calm their motion sickness.
They needed good sea legs just to stand still.

Loch Ness is quite real, I assure you. There's no monster in it, but the loch is definitely there.

Kind of sad in a way. Now that everyone in the first world has their own camera, we have satellites that can take pictures of anything anywhere and failing that, anyone can download software to make up a picture or video of anything they want. So short of a complete alien invasion that kills us all, there's no way to know if aliens or the Loch Ness monster or the Yeti or any other assholes even exist and we never will.

I've been coming to this circle for about five years, and measuring it. The diameter and the circumference are constantly changing, but the radius stays the same. Which brings me to the number 5. There are five letters in the word Blaine. Now, if you mix up the letters in the word Blaine, mix 'em around, eventually, you'll come up with Nebali. Nebali. The name of a planet in a galaxy way, way, way... way far away. And another thing. Once you go into that circle, the weather never changes. It is always 67 degrees with a 40% chance of rain.

The same thought occurred to me...
According to Wiki
, Loch Ness has a surface area of 56.4 km^2. So a layer of water 1.5 mm deep on top of the lake would make a total water volume of
56.4 x (1000)^2 x 1.5 / 1000 = 86,400 m^3
of water.
In order to displace this much water, Nessie would have to take up as much space as about 34 Olympic swimming pools (of minimal depth). Or, put another way, Nessie would be about 450 times larger than a blue whale, the largest known mammal.
Then again, maybe the effect Nessie has on the tide at the shoreline is greater than would be predicted by a slice of uniform thickness on top of the entire lake, so...
