tracking down the instrument to an unnamed individual
who apparently scavenged the wreck, taking the guitar and never bothering to notify the owner.
Positive article on what sounds like a tawdry action by someone on Curacao.

wow, that's farking cool.
i read a relatively recent interview from 2-3 years ago where he alluded to "this" guitar, how it disappeared.
pretty amazing.

When asked how excited he was about being reunited with his old guitar, Peter Frampton replied, "whah, whah wah wha wa whah"

Cool guy. Sorry he's moved away (He lived in Indian Hills for a while while married to a local gal). He sat down next to me at Arnold's once and ordered a pint. I looked at him agog, and said "You're Peter Frampton!"
He grinned and said, 'I know".
I know, CSB.
/was glad I'd recently bought Fingerprints,so we talked a bit about that and Humble pie and 'talk box" I made after hearing Comes alive when I was thirteen.
//he was already a star at thirteen.

CSB: in college, i had to drive up to Flagstaff during a blizzard, they closed I-17, about mabye 30 miles outside of Flag there were about 50 or 100 cars at a dead farking stop waiting for the highway patrol to clear the road. i found the local radio station and i remember rocking the fark out ot the extended 14 minute version of "Do You Feel Like We Do?" and playing the shiat out of air guitar and air drums in my car un about 15 degree wether.
now whenver i hear that song i think of that never mind this story sucks

"Frampton Comes Alive" isn't the greatest live album ever recorded on accident. The dude is awesome, and always has been.

Always said that Frampton is one of the most underrated guitarists out there.
I also coined the term "framptonian" as in "It was an epic of framptonian proportions"
#1 underrated guitarist: Terry Kath

It's an article that doesn't really tell the story of exactly how he got his guitar back. Somebody got his ass kicked and robbed somewhere along the way, I'd bet.

Because I love these arguments, I will see your Terry Kath and raise you one Mark Knopfler. And just to make it interesting, James Pankow was the best thing that ever happened to Terry Kath. :)

I wonder if he got a payoff from an insurance claim on that guitar when the plane crashed?
Because that would make the guitar the property of the insurance company, wouldn't it?

Knopfler is quite 'rated'. Definitely on anyones "top 100" list whenever people are ranked.
Kath is all but forgotten & people forget how avant-guard/rocking CHICAGO were back then, esp the stuff that never made the greatest hits. 25 or 6 to 4 really the only one with any Kath chops & the radio edit of
"Make Me Smile" edits his brutal solo out

But everyone remembers the trombone player, which is why Kath gets no love. Knopfler is known to players, but not to the general public, which is sad.

Ask most non musicians to name the 5 best guitarists of all time off the top of their heads without thinking. None of them will say Billy Gibbons.
