It's too thin and saucy, but I'll gladly take New Haven style over the birth defect that Midwesterners call pizza.

Jerry Seinfeld: What's around you?
Cosmo Kramer: I'm looking at Ray's pizza. You know where that is?
Jerry Seinfeld: Is it Famous Ray's?
Cosmo Kramer: No, it's just original.
Jerry Seinfeld: Famous ORIGINAL Ray's?
Cosmo Kramer: It's just original, Jerry!

I like Pepe's a lot, but apparently being "world famous" means the staff can act like they're doing you a favor just by talking to you.

I've yet to have pizza anywhere in NYC that didn't taste like greasy cardboard ass. I was in Oswego a few years ago, however, and the pizza there was one of the few things that I liked about that town. The other thing I liked about Oswego was Zonies.

The best pure pizza blog is
Slice
. They don't get caught up in the pizza wars, they just go try pizza and tell you what's good, whether it's NY, New Haven, Chicago, St. Louis, Sicilian, etc.. Good pizza is good pizza, no matter the style.

Well done, pizza guy. My favorite pizza place is actually in Brooklyn (L&B), but there's a lot of good stuff in Manhattan.

One large pepperoni, mushroom, and jalapeno with a side of armed-robbery-turned-into-a-double-murder-in-broad-daylight from New Haven's finest Crip-themed pizzeria, please.

Gaby's in Hollis and Margherita's (sp?) in Jamaica Center are but two of my personal favorites over here in Queens. The spot I live by is pretty delicious too, Luigi's in Ozone Park. Haven't had too many Manhattan slices because... come on... how much can you possibly spend on each slice of pizza?

I always assumed that restaurants open and close too frequently in Manhattan for it to be possible to try every slice of pizza that's offered. You'll be forever chasing the mozzarella dragon.

Santa: I've been to New York thousands of times.
Buddy: Really?
Santa: Mm-hmm.
Buddy: What's it like?
Santa: Well, there are some things you should know. First off, you see gum on the street, leave it there. It isn't free candy.
Buddy: Oh.
Santa: Second, there are, like, thirty Ray's Pizzas. They all claim to be the original. But the real one's on 11th. And if you see a sign that says "Peep Show", that doesn't mean that they're letting you look at the new toys before Christmas.

I think I've eaten at that NYPD pizza place in Colorado. It was awful.

For any Atlanta farkers, you have to try Antico Pizza near GT. It has converted even the harshest critics. Unbelievably good for the south. They were in the process of expanding to NY, etc until they found out the owner is...eccentric.
