I'm as trans-supportive as it gets, but what the f*ck did that transwoman do to her face? It looks like she has cheek implants that sagged or something. That's just sad.

In before people who failed high school biology try to explain how everything that scientists know about gender is utterly wrong.

/also, to agree wholeheartedly with shivashakti, what the hell did that woman do to her face?

Given the appearance of that melting thing on TFA, I'd say break out the Pledge and let 'em go into the woodwork forever.

My first visit to the OB/GYN:

Well, basically I went in there today and told him to take a look. He said "Listen, I know this is going to be awkward, but, um... you don't have a vagina."

And I was like "That's BS, because if I don't have a vagina, why do I like DUDES?"

Then it got weird...

I did see an HBO documentary called "Southern Comfort" that touched on this topic I believe. All smarmy comments aside, it was an informative and empathetic POV...

Giltric: So now the Dr. has to play pretend too?

It's more dangerous than that. It's asking an OB/GYN doctor to "play" urologist (or vice versa), which they're not licensed and trained to do.

All the snark in the thread aside, this was a really enlightening link for me, so kudos to the subby and modmin who greenlit this.

I have some small understanding of what happens, I had a very serious medical issue, and the best doctor around, that everyone recommended, practiced at the local children's hospital. So there I was in a waiting room filled with kids and Disney and having my name called out to see the doctor.

For the slow kids:
Born a female but identifying as a man, the Fort Lauderdale community activist dreams of having surgery to complete a transition fulfilled in every other way but one: He still has a woman's genitalia...

"The ignorance runs its course," said Makalani-MaHee, who hasn't had a pap smear in more than a decade after several uncomfortable doctor's visits. "A lot of us have avoided these types of experiences."

Except for the ones who are transgender, because they're called men. If you can't tell someone's gender without checking out the contents of their pants, then you're the one with the problem.

Yes, but it takes a specially trained team of oncologists and many thousands of dollars.

Do people like Flakeloaf call everyone they haven't seen naked, "Sir or Ma'am," since without identifying genitalia, they can't identify gender? It's like some weird sort of autism.

Yeah, that's kinda the point, Sparky. These men still have to go to the OB/GYN. Now, if the OB/GYN would start doing their jobs rather than thumping their Bibles, then the ACOG wouldn't have to be stepping in.

Gender is more than just someone's genitals. Plus, since you've never even seen Divine or Chaz Bono's genitals, then wtf are you talking about? By your own argument, you have no idea what gender they are, right?
