It kills me to say this, but if they stay healthy I think Spurs finish third fairly easily. Chelsea is in transition, Arsenal...is Arsenal, and Liverpool just doesn't do much for me when I watch them. Hate to say it, but it's a three way battle for fourth.
Unless Arsene does something crazy in the transfer period...so, yeah.

I got FIFA 12 when it came out, but my crappy 5 year old computer just couldn't run it. But I got a new computer over the weekend with my Christmas cash and finally got everything set up to play it yesterday (thus my lack of thread participation this weekend).
I was Liverpool (of course) facing Everton. I said to those I live with who watched me play for a bit "if this game stays true to Liverpool's form, I'll hit the post at least once." 5 minutes later, I have Carroll pass it to Saurez for a shot... guess what it hit.
I immediately paused the game, threw down the controller and in the name of comedy, proceeded to curse out the farking post for 5 minutes. I think I even called it "whitey" a couple of times just for extra comedic effect (since it was Saurez who shot it). If anyone I lived with had the foresight to record the rant, I would post the youtube link here. Alas, no such luck.
Of course, 10 minutes later, the game showed how fictional it was when I got Andy Carroll to score a goal.

Yeah, I read quite a bit of it, and I don't think that his use of the spanish word for "black" was as innocent as he purported it to be. The linguists agreed that the term can be used in a variety of ways, both familiar and antagonistic, so that part of it was a coin flip. Everything else he did was antagonistic to Evra, which to me explains the context of how Suarez was using it, and I say this as a guy who has no love lost for United. The nail in the coffin, as I saw it, was that the video of the event synced up well with Evra's testimony, but not Suarez' explanation of events.
I don't dislike Suarez aside from his issues with diving, and he's a hell of a player when vertical, but I think he was f*cking with Evra. I don't think he's a racist, I think it was gamesmanship that went over the line. Also, I think the same message could have been clearly made with a four-match ban.

It doesn't matter how he thinks the word translates, none of it is going make him sound good in the context
"Mr Evra's evidence is that up to this point Mr Suárez had used the word "negro" or "negros" five times in the goalmouth: "Because you are black", "I don't speak to blacks" and "OK, blackie, blackie, blackie".

Let's think about this honestly.
- Saurez has no history of racism anywhere.
- There were no witnesses to the incident. No players or officials heard the alledged language.
- Evra admitted to using what could be considered abusive language in his testamony, yet there is no punishment against him.
-
Evra has a history of making up racism charges
(new window).
That does not equal an 8 game suspension unless Evra was to get a similar suspension. And I'd be saying that if it was anyone who doesn't wear a Liverpool shirt. I'd say it if it was Torres or Rooney or Joey Barton (ok, maybe that's pushing it, but you get the point).
But here's what I think happened to make Liverpool not push for the appeal:
1- They saw what happened on Friday without Saurez and liked what they saw.
2- They felt that the FA would not reduce or overturn the suspension.
3- They realized that they didn't want a ton of off the pitch distractions. There's been enough of that around Anfield the last 2-3 years.
And so, there's no appeal.
One last thing- all those people ripping on Liverpool for supporting Saurez so much I could care less about. I'll take the opinion of the guys who see him every single day at the training ground over some pundits who've never met the man in their lives.

That Evra has made accusactions of racism before is a widely held but still incorrect opinion. See para 11 of this story:

Suarez admitted to using racial language. The incident was filmed in high-def. Suarez lied in his interviews with the board in respect of the number and strength of epithets used. United had better lawyers and got their story straight.
