(TSN) Interesting Dupuis, or not Dupuis: that is the question. Whether 'tis nobler to suffer the injuries and lousy play of a mediocre forward, or to take arms against a scoring drought, and by waiving end it   (tsn.ca) divider line 21

If only Burke could put Wilson on waivers and then himself.. basically gave his buddy a large lump sum when he knows he will not be back next year

Other than his unwavering support for Wilson, Burkie has done way more good than bad for the Leafs. Having said that, who do you replace Wilson with?

but on-topic-wise, kinda feel sorry for Dupuis, he just never clicked here. The only surprise was this didn't happen two months ago.

sno man: Having said that, who do you replace Wilson with?

Paul Maurice. I just want Maurice to constantly flip back and forth between coaching the 'Canes and Leafs for the next twenty years, simply for the lulz.

Dallas Eakins, coach of the Marlies in the AHL. He's the one responsible for knocking sense into Kadri and making him aware of something called defensive play away from the puck. Or, y'know, don't turn it over all the farking time.

Dupuis' is a bit of a scapegoat here for the lack of success on the PK, but room's got to be made for both Kadri, and for Mike Brown returning.

I suspect another one of the fourth liners will be waived ASAP (Boyce/Crabb/Orr/Rosehill/Lombardi).

Not sure Eakins is ready. But I really can't picture anyone else either. Which may explain why Wilson is still there.

And I think you are right about some more changes coming. Orr or Rosehill I'd bet for the waive, but I bet BB has a trade up his sleeve soon too. He likes to do that way ahead of the trade deadline as a rule...

Yeah, his pre-trade deadline trade surprise. Watch, it'll be something outlandish we didn't see coming, like Nash or Eric Staal for Komisarik and Finger, or some such craziness.

Eakins is close. The guy I wanted was Muller, but oddly he went to Carolina to replace Maurice...maybe we take Maurice back for the lulz like was quoted above?

Unless it's Randy Carlyle we're talking, and I almost prefer Wilson over that.

I really liked Maurice, he was good with the baby Leafs and great with the press. He was pretty thoroughly screwed by Leafs brass and the nearly complete lack of talent they gave him to work with with the big club. He should have said no to the promotion at the time.

I think he's holding out for the gig with the new Nordiques... hehehe

Habs-Not Nation are probably hoping he'll go back to Montreal. Pierre Gauthier formally threw Randy Cunnyworth under the bus today (new window).

This. I liked Maurice. The only think I like about Wilson is that he deals with The Devil's Media(tm) better than Maurice ever did.

However, I think Eakins will be coaching the Leafs next year. They're thoroughly out this year, save for yet another patented Ron Wilson February-March Late Season Surge (which will undoubtedly be followed by a first-round playoff exit).

dunno about thoroughly out...
But the gotta let Reimer have his sophomore crappy year as back-up and put Gustavsson in the prime spot...

Does it really matter? The ownership threw Cunneyworth under the bus two days after he was hired!

How about when he was... Franco media has a massive issue with non-quebecois but quelqu'un qui ne parle pas français was never gonna fly....

I agree with that.

Also, this story did not deserve a green. However, I think this is the first Leafs-related story on FARK with a headline not espoused to how much they suck.

Next year the Leafs will hire Scott Arniel. Book it. Done.
