rosebud_the_sled: Newt claims to the be the "truest conservative". Given the examples provided by the current crop of Republicans, I really don't know what that means anymore.

I sincerely wish to have someone describe what a true conservative is and which of any of these candidates fit that definition.

TRUE conservative.

I don't think he'd be impressed by any of our current batch of kumquats.

KingPsyz: edmo: Is he pissed about the signing statements? I thought the GOP loved those things.

Didn't Bush set the all time record?

Last I heard, it was 'thousands' of signing statements for Bush, and 'dozens' for Obama. A bit imprecise, I know..

As much as I enjoy watching these candidates flop around, all this will be fogotten in Nov. when President Obama is reelected and the far right loonies go into derpaderpa meltdown.

I see that Newt has decided to start his New Year off right. Admitting that the Swiftboat campaign was made up BS, and now a case that seated elected officials should just hand over their salary, because as everyone knows, it's not the pittance that the Treasury pays out that gets you a home in the Hamptons.

I wonder if there are any other inadvertent admissions of truth that he'd like to throw the curtain back on before the rest of the field dog piles on him?

mrlewish: Craptastic: So, to state the obvious, words have different meanings when uttered by lawyers. (big surprise, eh?) What constitutes "transferable" when discussing "compensation", if you don't mind me asking?

Simply something you can trade for money. Let's say you worked at some food plant and they allowed you to take goods home as part of your compensation. You could turn around and sell that food for cash, the cash would be taxable as income. With health insurance the health insurance company pays the provider... they take that off their taxes as a business expense. Unless you want a tax bill every time you use your doctor?

... they aren't in the business of providing health insurance just the mullah .

Mullah or moolah?

/not the same

DeltaPunch: For anyone still not sure, these are the things that make you look like racists to the rest of us. Absolutely worthless, petty, hypocritical drivel that was never ONCE suggested for any other President in history. For f*ck's sake you MUST be able to see this...

Very much THIS as well.
