I was being held down, and for that, I did not imitate his dance. I was trying to walk away from the situation but a gust of wind blew my hands forward and in front of my body, making it seem that I was doing a sort of discount double check gesture. I apologize for putting myself int he position to for my actions to be misinterpreted. I was trying to get off the ground, and as I'm getting up, I lost my balance. A lot of people will interpret that, they will make their own storylines, but the man upstairs knows what I did. I was going the opposite direction, so.....but I was being held onto. So in an attempt to regain my balance, my hands went forward a bit.

Until you get a ring, you shouldn't do the Discount Doublecheck.

Soon enough Suh will encounter an offensive lineman who plays even dirtier than he does, and -pop- will go one of Suh's knees, and not a single shiat will be given.

Opponents now 0-8 when they do that dance against the Packers.

Yeah, I don't get the belt move, I really don't. It's really lame.

because a little dance isn't a reason to ban a man. i could care less if he does a little dance.

also, you know what is classy? donating 2.6 million dollars to charity, more than any other professional athlete (new window). yeah, so he's a little intense on the field...

Ummmm, from what you linked. $2 million to the Nebraska University athletic department and another $600,000 to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Engineering

The Nebraska athletic department is not a charity in the true sense of the spirit. I give that a big fat meh,.

A nice chunk of that was to replace the equipment shed.

Sure it is. It takes young thugs like Suh, Lawrence Phillips, Kellen Huston and Christian Peter off the streets and turns them into slightly older thugs with degrees in basket weaving.

The championship belt move is classless in and of itself, so this is a non-issue.

Lumping Suh, who has done nothing off the field, and from all accounts comes from a fine background and family life, with those people, is ridiculous.

600K for a scholarship for engineering students isn't anything to sneeze at either.

2012-01-02 04:39:27 PM
When people tell you they love Tebow because he's not like all the other thugs in the league, this is the only person they're thinking about.

2012-01-02 04:45:37 PM
Yes, how dare Suh not honor the decades-old tradition of the Aaron Rodgers belt move with the appropriate amount of reverence and respect? That's just like pissing on Vince Lombardi's grave while skull-farking the corpse of Knute Rockne.

True. In the NFL, drinking and then smashing into 3 parked cars is nothing. Unlike real life.

I get he wants to be a badass on the field...and does the discount doublecheck after a sack...but it was the wrong quarterback dude.

Rodgers probably law the mocking on the big screen and thought "is this guy really that big of a turd?"

he then proceeded to polish his 2010 Superbowl ring.

/not a Packers fan, and I like celebrations on the field, within context. Don't celebrate a vicious tackle or first down catch if your team is down 67-0...no one cares.

Excuse me but that car has rims. I bet he uses it to play the rap music. Rap.Music.

I'm sure Rodgers was really disturbed by the gesture, drinking hot chocolate on the sidelines and probably exchanging numbers with any hotties in the stands.

.035 BAC, under the legal limit, by a ways. He was being compared to two people who have been convicted, numerous times, of felony assault. Slightly different, wouldn't you say?

So is every athlete, or human being for that matter, who's ever gotten a DUI then some sort of irredeemable thug?

I'm still unclear on why doing the belt move after sacking Rodgers's backup is supposed to be directed at Rodgers.

Okay, take irredeemable out of it. Is every person who's ever gotten a DUI, which Suh hasn't, or a ticket for reckless driving, a thug on par with a felon doing a quarter inside, and a man convicted 8 times of violent crimes before his 25th birthday?

There is quite a bit of symmetry here. The two dirtiest Ds in the league versus two QBs with a reputation for fragility, both of whom have dodged injury for an extended period of time.

Would we call Drew fragile? Yeah, the shoulder injury, but that was years ago. Played through the MCL tear last year.

Not necessarily. However, if the same person later stomps on a guy on a nationally televised Thanksgiving Day game, then only an idiot would argue he's not.

as a proud participant in the fWc (It's not real to me...but it's entertaining)

it's funny b/c it's an old school wrestling move they did for the fans to sign to them "I want that wrestling title"

Suh however is signing "I want you all to like me, even when I'm pretending to be a badass"

He was a beast in college...destroyed my Longhorns in that Big 12 game...but he hasn't done enough in the NFL, YET.

/Discount doublecheck!

When I said Suh's driving violation was comparatively minor by NFL standards, that's what I meant. No, I will not compare that and his arm-stomping and his post-game rationalizations to felony assault, because that's silly. I'll say that it's clearly a question of what falls within your definition of "thug" and leave it at that.

Not in control of his temper while playing a game that requires you to actively try to hurt the person in front of you? Sure. Idiot? Maybe. Thug? No.

And he didn't get a DUI, he got a ticket for reckless driving, so you're saying he's a thug because he got a ticket, and has anger issues while playing a violent game. Must be windy up there on your high horse.

While I wouldn't say he's a thug off the field, I'd say that exceeds the threshold for having done "nothing wrong" off the field.

Funny thing is, Brandon Inge(Tigers 3B) did the same thing like a week later, except it was in the morning and the roads were slippery.

Bottom line is, Suh did something incredibly stupid, got suspended, served the suspension, and the worst thing he's done since then is the discount double check. I'd say he's doing fine.
