Obama is the best out of two very poor options, but that's not saying much.

/both major parties are fascists who do the 1%'s bidding.
//will probably vote Green since CA will go Obama anyway.

E.J. you ignorant slut.

Hmm, if Jesus was president, and happened to die in office three days before the election at the end of his second term, would he be eligible for re-election?

The plan to stop Barack Obama from achieving a better economy was successful!

Congrats Republitards! Well done.

I dunno, too many people have figured out his schtick. He's just a South Chicago bullshiater. A pretty good one but a bullshiater none the less.

This whole "Obama is the messiah" thing... what's up with that?

The only time I saw that being made as any type of real point was with Oprah, when she did the whole "he's the one" talk on her show. Other than that, it seems like this is just another meme from the right.

Or am I missing something here?

So he's like Ron Paul?

No, no no, subby. The question isn't whether Obama can get reelected.

The question is whether an asteroid will hit the earth and cause total human extinction; because that's the only thing that can prevent Obama's reelection.

Nope. This is concern trolling at its finest.

Just a reminder that only Republicans (sarcastically) referred to Obama as "The Messiah". In case the propaganda started to be believed since 2008 was a long time ago.

You know, the only people I ever heard calling Obama a messiah or the chosen one or anything along those lines are the filthy farking idolators on conservative talk radio and foxnews.

You know who was a professional bullshiatter? So much that he had to resign the presidency on national television.

2012-01-02 02:36:20 PM
In the 2008 primaries I voted for Obama because his political spectrum lined up with mine a bit more than Clinton's, then I voted for him in the general election because his lined up much more than McCain's. I'm guessing I'll be making the same comparison later this year when faced with Obama v Romney. No deities need apply.

This whole 'Chosen One' business is just typical republican projectionism over critiques of Saint Reagan.

The only people I hear talking of Arugala and Mustard are democrats.....maybe the messiah thing is heavily laced with sarcasm?

Maybe it has to do with all the people crying and screaming for Obama like he was in the Beatles.

Although I would get a tingle up and down my leg if a real Messiah was running for office.

It's a thinly-veiled dog whistle phrase to fundamentalist Christian conservative voters that Obama is the Anti-Christ. You have to remember that a large portion of the most faithful Republican voters base their entire lives and thought processes around the end of the world.

He compromised on a lot, and most of it I approved of, but the NDAA did it for me. He should have vetoed the bill and forced them to override him. That and his worthless attempt to balance the budget. Obama is a centrist who doesn't know how to get things done in Washington. He throws the Republicans under the bus at every speech and then expects them to walk hand in hand with him on different projects. Now it's certainly possible the Republicans are just a bunch of obstructionist assholes, but political savvy is about figuring out who you can manipulate. There are always people in the Republican party you can work with behind closed doors. That's politics.

I'm tired of more of the same from both parties. I'm not voting for Obama in 2012.

/and there was always the chance that Obama would veto NDAA had it happened during a 2nd term, but...

Yah I hate to admit it but you might actually be right. Maybe the Repubs of 20 years ago. Still, Obama signed NDAA, supports DCMA, supports SOPA, and is in the pocket of the bankers. That right there is enough for me.

I'm completely disillusioned by the state of our country right now. I'm pretty sure putting Bush in charge from 2000-2008 was the death knell of the republic. The long term effects of the Supreme Court balance, the two wars, the Patriot Act and indefinite detention, the educational nightmare that is NCLB, the deregulation of banking...those things will affect our country for decades.

Where did I say I was supporting the Republicans? Listen, idiot. Not voting for Obama is not the same as voting for Republicans, or supporting Republicans. That's the whole problem with this country, no one has any creativity. Go ahead and be manipulated by the media, and do your national duty and pick between two parties. As for me, screw that, I'd much rather support a third party candidate than either of those parties.

You think Obama threw the Republicans under the bus, and it's possible the Republicans are obstructionist? Do you live in some sort of bizarro reality?

Obama has reached out the olive branch more times than I can count. And in return, several high-profile Republicans have said that their number one goal is to make Obama a one term President. They're not working on the economy, or the deficit, or jobs. They want the Democrat gone and replaced with a Republican, and they don't care what they have to do to get there.

The Republican party has gone entirely off the rails since 2008. Obama might not be everything you ever wanted with a pony and a rainbow and sprinkles, but he's a heck of a lot better than the alternatives.

Because we have Barak Obama (new window)

When your campaign gets people saying stupid shiat like this because they think that a President is gonna get them rich and get them out of paying their debts that they incurred, there's some truth that your campaign is promising too much. I know that this is one extreme example, but I wonder what she is thinking today and whether she feels that she's been had. Probably not, considering............

Political campaigns as a rule lie and build candidates up far higher than reality. On both sides.

I don't know. I'm not sure any of that matters if we're now able to detain people without trial and have websites taken offline simply because someone doesn't like them. (Don't kid yourself, SOPA will become law. If not by a separate bill, then it'll just get put into a "must-pass" bill like the indefinite detention part of NDAA was.)

That magazine was saying that in order to be President, one person has to essentially be "God of all things" - if you would actually read the rest of the farking magazine cover you'd know that they weren't calling Obama a god. And if you had read that Newsweek article:

For some time now, comparisons between the two have been a tool of cynical opinion that quickly became fatigued of the rapture that Obama instilled prior to and after the presidential election last year.

From the start, Obama's critics have claimed that his supporters have idolised him as a saviour, thus attempting to dismantle the concrete hope that Obama has represented for most Americans.

He was doing it in response to the Republitard derp

So what do you propose to DO about the state of our country ? Are you going to friviously waste your franchise on a third party candidate who doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell of winning so you can keep on biatching about how the Democrats or the Republicans don't care about the rest of us ? Please enlighten me, I really want to know what the people who are doing all this whining about the two party system propose to do differently.
