That's true. Your liver is just like any other organ. It needs excercise to stay strong.

Of course you don't quit drinking. Doing anything well requires constant practice. The same is true of your liver. If you want it to be able to metabolize the alcohol, you must give it constant practice. Quitting drinking would only make it lazy.

At least that's what I keep telling myself.

Being unable to buy alcohol because you spent all your money during the holidays is not the same thing as quitting drinking.

I'm not going to be able to afford alcohol until March, so ... yeah.

/being responsible and spending money on bills instead of booze sucks

High 'enzymes' are a symptom, not a cause, of toxicity and damage.

If you are a heavy drinker, get your liver evaluated by a doctor. Some folks livers can handle a lot more than others.

I thought "Janopause" meant that you were watching "Mad Men" and then paused and realized that January Jones cannot act.

Japanese Detox?

I read it as "Japanese Botox" when I was skimming the headlines.

I quit drinking because I just can't get drunk anymore without drinking a fifth of something. No fun anymore.

/keeps emergency bottle of whiskey just in case
//emergency bottle of everclear is a little less full

This seemed appropriate:

So only 1 or 2 people read the article?

Subby thinks that the statement 'quitting for 1 month is not long enough to heal your liver' is unlikely? Really?

Is this suggesting that it's better to maintain a low intake than to abstain altogether?... that doesn't seem right.
