I absolutely loathe the Pittsburgh Steelers...and I will be rooting for them to take down this egotisitical idiot next weekend.

A .500 record is enough for the AFC worst again this year.

mikemoto: egotisitical idiot next weekend.

Nothing more egotistical than claiming you don't deserve any of the credit for your/your team's success.

How, exactly, has he acted in any way egotistical? Have I missed something?

Every Denver fan should write a thank you note to the Chicago Bears.

Should be fun to watch Pittsburgh dismantle the Tebows.

THIS!
The media are the bloated ones. Tebow actually isn't a bad guy.

He is a mediocre rookie with little upside other than his running, and watching Denver then the nation jump on his bandwagon has been nothing short of hilarious at times.

// Slowest arm release in the past 30 years.

C'mon now, that hasn't happened since way back in 2008. It's not like a 7-9 team has won, like in that laughingstock NFC West.

You know, there is a chance the AFC championship could come down to Tebow vs.Delhomme...

He is religious, and religious people latched on to that and made it a big deal. Then the media latched on to it and made it a bigger deal. Then the non-religious folk latched on to it and made it an even bigger deal. Thus Tim Tebow is egotistical.

2012-01-02 12:38:26 AM
My problem has always been with the media hype amd not Tebow himself. He's probably a great guy. I can't wait to watch James Harrison eat his soul. I'm pretty sure the league has already fined him at ESPN's request.

Egotistical? I could do without some of the...er...flamboyantly Christian things he does and ways of mentioning his good works without anyone asking him about them, but egotistical and Tim Tebow are not things that cross in my head.

You have no idea what you're talking about. Tebow has done nothing but give the rest of the team credit for the Broncos' success in every interview he's had.

2012-01-02 12:40:39 AM
Big Denver fan here. Pittsburg will destroy us. The defense has been doing great, but the offense stinks. Defense tires out, and Denver falls by 21 points.

I'm not a Tebow fan, but he did the bare minimum to get the afc west crown, something Orton couldn't do. Elway isn't committed to him, and I wouldn't be surprised if they traded up / sold their draft picks for a few years to get Luck.

Also, how has he been egotistical, he's the first to take blame when they lose and the last to take credit for winning.

2012-01-02 12:40:44 AM
To play devil's advocate, I guess the "Hey everybody, look what a good Christian I am" routine could be described as egotistical...

Sadly, you are probably correct, but he's still going to eat Tebow's soul. Also Tebow for once won't be the most openly devout player on the field. I'm sure the media will hype that all week.

UNC_Samurai: You know, there is a chance the AFC championship could come down to Tebow vs.Delhomme...

No, there's not. I think the world of John Fox, but unless Tebow gets hurt in the first drive and Quinn pulls a miracle, the Broncos are going down hard. I'll still root for them, but I'm not putting any money on them.

And yet the Broncos are in the playoffs. You can attribute it to the defense if you like, you can discount Tebow's contributions all you want to, but they're playing on and odds are that the team you root for is only playing again on the golf course until next September.

I'm pretty sure that Tim Tebow, for all his humility, smiles at your butthurt. He's only human, after all, and it's the least he can do after all the kindness you've shown him.

See, this next weekend sucks. The Steelers have to take the Broncos down. I was hoping that they would go far into the playoffs just to drive the butthurt knife in deeper, but that's probably not in the cards. More's the pity.

I think that's they way some people feel about it. And to be fair, there are a whole lot of so-called christians out there who use their religion mostly as a way to feel better than other people. And there are a lot of hypocrites in this world. So rightly or wrongly, they ascribe these qualities to Tebow.

2012-01-02 12:48:27 AM
Is there anything more indicative of how Tebow's reality is? 6/22 60 yards in a loss and he's in the playoffs.

He did have McDouche as his coach last year, doesn't really count.

2012-01-02 12:51:28 AM
Eh, he can be a passive-aggressive asshole and an attention whore, but egotistical? Nah.

Still, making the playoffs just gives the Steelers a bigger stage on which to humiliate Tebow. The Donkeys remind me of the '08 Dolphins, who made the playoffs with a gimmicky offense opponents weren't ready for. Then the next season everyone adjusted to the wildcat and the Dolphins went back to sucking. I predict the same result for Denver next year. And it's not like the Donkeys were even good this year...they were lucky enough to be the least awful team in the worst division in the NFL.

And then beat the Saints. Which is really worse?

/West has sent 4 teams to the SB since 2000. That's above average for the conference.

I think it would have been different if the Raiders top 4 offensive players didn't miss the majority of the year with major injuries.

I have all the respect in the world for Tebow. But he was set up to fail. Doesn't matter what the team does, unless he wins the SuperBowl, Tebow probably will be competing for the starting job next year. Elway doesn't like him, and Yaweh doesn't hold a candle next to Elways power in Invesco field.

Train Tebow to be a good pro tight end and he could set records. Or leave him as QB after teams have adjusted how to defend his run and he'll be no better than the usual second stringer.

I think the kid is a little too comfortable in the spotlight for his own good.

/QBs have to be able to throw the ball in the NFL

And I'm pretty sure the greatest butthurt comes from his fans...the ones who were so mad that he wasn't getting played that they put up a billboard, and the ones who think making fun of him in a tweet calls for a boycott of HBO.

That being said, he doesn't come across as egotistical, especially not by NFL standards. He is just not a good quarterback.

Not really, the worst division has to be the NFC west still.
13-3, 8-8, 7-9, 2-14 vs 8-8, 8-8, 8-8, 7-9

30-34 vs 31-33

It's a squeaker.

As a Broncos fan, I can't see any single possible way that they will beat the Steelers. Somehow the Vegas lines only favor Pittsburgh by 7.5 points. I almost want to bet on the Steelers to cover that spread.

I'd like to think when all this Tebow shiat is over (and it's one week from being over) that his Dunning-Krueger-esque supporters will realize that his early success was predictable and reminiscent of many before him who were heralded as stars only to flame out once their puzzle was solved... but it doesn't matter. There's always a new crop of noobs.

On the plus side you learned something about strategy that you didn't know. Apply it to your life.
