...condemns church leader David Miscavige for turning Scientology into little more than a money-hungry fundraising machine.

Turning it into? That's what it was from the beginning.

lots of jargon in that email, but if I understood it correctly it sounds like scientology is being bled white by the senior management making poor decisions.

Scientology = science-speak for a huge pile of steaming horseshiat.

There's a really interesting story to one day be told about David Miscavige's claim to Hubbard's throne. He was not chosen as his heir when Hubbard was alive, and he did a whole Game of Thrones on everyone else close to Hubbard before and after he died. Some think he even had a hand in Hubbard's death himself.

Anyway, the dude is an evil little fark.

Yeah it was probably a brilliant gig until someone invented the internet.

Look at her FB page. You can't help the brainwashed.

"Laszlo Berndt. Weak up guy and confront the evil! I am sure this facebook account is hacked by an SP, and an SP is using controlling her fb account (writing in her name), and the letter you may received form her is set by an SP in her name."

Well to be fair, there's also the social control aspects of religion that are actually even more insidious than simple avarice. In a way, the social control allows avarice free reign in most all "organized" religions. Whic of course were ALL cults at some point in their existence.

FloydA: Isn't that what religion is for?

Religion, capitalism, the state.
It's also the real reasons homophobia, racism, sexism, etc. are encouraged by certain politicians and institutions. Divide and conquer.
And it's not about money so much as the power it represents within the context of the society they live in. It's the result of socially unnecessary hierarchies that benefit the few at the expense of the many.

She's deleting the posts from the kooks saying the email wasn't from her. Pretty funny.

Very interesting.
Despite her high standing, and judicious way of putting her concerns, I doubt this will go unpunished. Miscavige is probably furious at her.

We'll probably be seeing her as a prominent ex-Scientologist soon.

You don't get rich writing science fiction. If you want to get rich, you start a religion.

L Ron Hubbard, writer and cult founding douchebag

You will be interested to know that Scientology already has its Luther-esque splinter groups. The Freezoners simply "use" the "tech" while stripping away some of the "loonier" parts of the "religion."

I went to see Tom Cruise's Mission Impossible movie yesterday. Lots of eye candy -- great special effects. Cruise has considerable acting talent but what he has is mostly wasted here. He also did his own stunts outside the Dubai tower which were pretty impressive. The story was stupid.

And that's all I have to say about Scientology today.

This is awesome. It started out as a money grab, and now that it's a super money grab someone on the inside thinks it's a money grab. And you got quotations and references all over the place. And the "church" is sitting on a billion dollars while raising more.

They have a billion dollar trust fund. Invested at 4% per year (not impossible considering many stock give dividends over 4%), that's $40 million in unsolicited money. On top of the membership and course fees, and donations.

This thing is a juggernaut and David is going to have to either cut her off and kill anyone who starts to think like her, or just vanish inexplicably with a good pile of cash.

A better Christmas gift I could not imagine, this will be gold for years to come.

He has not done one decent movie since he and Mimi Rogers busted up, and that was YEARS ago.

From what I understand about Mr. Evil, my guess is that this woman will find herself excommunicated and then cut off from the church. anything damaging the church has could be used against her, and if she pushes back against scientology then well...fair game, right?

I heard they were funneling all the money to Iran's Nuclear program - Something about needing Nukes to place in volcanoes, save us all, etc etc... Or maybe it was they don't like Jews.....

In any case, I'm sure the Sociologists, with assistance from Iran, in cooperation with the Rand corporation and the reverse vampires ... I forgot where I was going with this... Sorry..

You mean "Fair Game". If you didn't know, that's the actual term they use. When you are declared an SP, you "May be deprived of property or injured by any means by any Scientologist without any discipline of the Scientologist. May be tricked, sued or lied to or destroyed."
