I was awakened when my brother's patrol car was literally run over by a driver who hadn't followed the mandatory rest figures. That and when the company tried to "lose" the records.

3DS will pick up when it starts getting better titles - same launch problem as the PS3. If Pokemon black/white was released for the 3DS instead of the DS, no one would put it on this list. But I think it'll pick up eventually.

I like this idea. For those of us who have a relatively low number of green lights, a few good "top comments" can serve as a boost. (Granted, we'll all be shamed by Pocket Ninja).

I also think there needs to be a "Smite" option. Or something to serve as a downvote. This would probably be overused in the politics tab, but this could be used as a way to tag trolls. Then again, this might give trolls a metric and a goal to gets to maximum trolling.

Look, Nintendo... Here's how it really is:

All the decent Android and iOS devices on the market are capable of running emulators for Nintendo consoles, or at least playing really close rip-offs of your Nintendo franchises (especially Kart games!). Any franchise you "update" on newer handheld consoles like the 3DS has its roots firmly in the earlier console eras, and as such, can easily be experienced on most portable devices with an NES, SNES, GBA, or N64 emulator. Try as you might, you won't stop the emulation market. It's out there, it's busy, and you can't get all the drops of water back in the bucket.

You have two choices:

1. Keep plugging away at the hardware market knowing full well that everyone is buying iPod touches, iPhones, Android phones, and Android mini-tablets, and watch your hardware sales plunge below sea level.

2. Wise up and start selling Nintendo games for iOS or Android, and watch people shell out money to buy your old franchises again and again.

Because right now, all you've got going for you are the physical controls, and some companies are figuring out that touch screen + easily concealed physical controls = an all-in-one solution for music, gaming, phone, and social networking.

And believe me, Nintendo: Your little Nintendo OS (whatever it may be) on DS systems isn't going to win against iOS or Android. It's just not. If Windows Phone can't do it, you can't either... And people are getting sick of carrying around a phone AND a game console.

You either need to deal with the way things are right now, or you can remain a dinosaur and watch yourselves go extinct.

Because I'm telling you right now, Nintendo: It will be a cold day in Hell when I pay for another dedicated portable game console. Between my phone and 7" tablet, I don't need another gadget to do what they already do quite well.

And let's face it: Your games haven't been fresh, new, or interesting in about a decade. You're like the Tim Burton of video games; You just keep plagiarizing yourself and hoping it will be made more charming by re-using the same cast over and over.

I dunno. I think they'll suffer the same problem as the PSV. Too many people don't want to spend that much money both on a portable console and portable games. There's no doubt the hardware is better, the controls are better, and the games play better because of it, but most people seem to be content with paying $5 for Plants vs Zombies rather than $30 for the next Advance Wars or MGS Portable Ops game

There is a smite option. It is called ignore. It is a fantastic way to keep not only their current comments "downvoted", but all future comments as well. I view it as an insurance policy against stupidity.

Way to rub it in for all the poor saps (such as myself) who couldn't score a $99 HP Touchpad. After searching for its equivalent (both in cost and capability) since the fire sale in August, I finally settled on a $100 no-name tablet from Wal-Mart. After rooting it and getting Android 2.2 running on it, I have to say I am pleasantly surprised so far. Sure, the single-core processor and 256mb of RAM blows (which is mitigated largely by the rooting and using an app killer), but it at least has a capacitive touchscreen and SD port (unlike the HP.) Also the 90-day return policy of Wally World (where I normally do not shop) is nice in case I end up bricking it. In case you're curious, it is the Velocity Cruz, model t301 (new window) Best tablet I could find at the price point.

Same here. All the game out for the 3DS would work on DSi just fine. Nothing special about the 3DS. Big N seem content to shove the 3DS down everyone's throat converting all DS/DSi game in the works into 3DS so the can kill the DS/DSi line.
