See? Allow gay marriage, and you end up with women marrying vegetables.

Stand-in carrots. Apparently no one thought to document such a rare coincidence with a photo.

Paahlsson and her family, who live on a farm in northern Sweden, had given up on seeing the ring again...

But she never gave up hope because the pigs were always rooting for her.

/not many carrot jokes left

Lettuce hope she doesn't lose it again.

She probably buried it accidentally while gardening. Plant a seed/bulb into the dirt and it falls off while covering up, It wouldn't be hard to imagine that happening. Yet another reason not to wear jewelry while doing garden work. The last thing you want to do is get you finger caught on something because of a ring. Of course this is all one big assumption.

CSB:

When I was a newlywed, the damn ring kept falling off my finger anytime it was very cold. Lost it three times and always recovered it in a day or so. Except the one time it fell off while I was carrying trash out to the back behind the garage in late fall. I didn't notice it falling off for about a day or so. Without any idea of the exact time frame, I had dozens of places all over town to check out. I looked every-farking-where for weeks, developed this obsession that it must have fallen off while I was at the video store, and picked up by someone else, I hassled the store owners to check their security cameras, no dice, and so I hassled every pawnbroker in town for a couple of weeks on the theory whoever found it just sold it. Started a new savings account to pay for a replacement. Put ads in the papers with a reward. The whole beefalo. No effect. Felt like shiat for months.

In the spring, I'm walking trash bags out to the garage, picking thru the snow, and there's one unusually-colored tulip growing against the garage, it's a different color than all the rest. I go over to check it out... and the effing ring is right farking there, jammed on a leaf of the plant!
The tulips were a favorite of my late dad, and I attributed the ring's recovery to him looking after me.

Took the ring to the jeweler the next morning and had them add one of those gap-filling inner sizing rings to it to tighten it up. It eventually broke off a year or two ago. In the past decade or so the finger got fat enough on it's own that I don't ever need to worry about the problem any more.

Carat, subby, carat - "carat" is the unit used to measure the weight of gemstones. "Karat" denotes the purity of gold. "Carrot" is a root vegetable.

My mother lost her wedding ring in the same way: peeling and chopping vegetables, the ring falls off, and goes with the peel into the compost bin.
She found it years later while she was gardening, though it didn't come shooting up through the soil on a rampant carrot.

(fairly mundane story, bro)

Well, it was a gold ring with diamonds, so either works.

When I was 18 I lived at my grandmothers' house. She'd clean the room throughly every Saturday morning, going so far as to shake the dresser scarves out the second story windows. I worked closing at McDonalds, and usually slept through the cleaning. One April Saturday morning she shook out the scarves, and my diamond earrings went out the window. Gone. That fall, we were raking leaves. My sister looked down, and found a diamond earring! About a half our later she found the second one. Good eyes.
