I liked that better than the original. Of course, I never could stand Rod Stewart.

CSB time...

The very first concert I ever went to was in the summer of 1977. It was Burton Cummings opening up for Alice Cooper. Being 13, I had no idea who Burton Cummings was and didn't come to appreciate the Guess Who's music for another 20 years.

WTF was that?
Plus, The Guess Who was my favorite band (when I was 10).
GET OFF MY LAWN.

I kept thinking that Burton Cumming was some lounge act from the 70's, and this was a joke-tribute. Perhaps it was the VHS breaking up in mid tape, but I found that pretty poor.

This gets 3 out of 4 cancon stars.

Bucky Katt: Cummings is a good singer. Too bad he wasted his talents on Guess Who shlock.

Schlock?

You crazy baby.

The Guess Who is a great band. Saw them live in concert in '00 at copps coliseum in Hamilton. One of the best concerts I had ever been to. Bachman and Cummings were brilliant. Just cause you don't like the Guess Who doesn't invalidate the fact they were a huge success.

This is a joke. He's mocking Gordon Lightfoot.

It's parody- just for a comparison...

One of the saddest concerts I've ever been to was a Guess Who / Steppenwolf show during the late 80's... The Guess Who kept trying to fire the crowd up, and this crowd of young'uns who knew Steppenwolf from AOR radio were... Well, trying to figure out -who they were- until they played "American Woman."

/ *I* enjoyed the heck out of the show at least.

Ahhh, thanks so much, I should have been familiar with these guys based on my age bracket, but I was listening to punk, hardcore, and new wave back then. That was a dead-on impersonation, reversing my original post!

Only have 1 lp, "Share the Land", but their radio singles were pretty darn good. Even Cummings' solo singles stuff is great. That guy is one of the great underrated tune-smiths / melody makers / piano singer-songwriters of the 70's

Their live stuff, even the early 80's Reunion (1983 i think) on youtube is great. look it up.
