The $1m bill? That's the one with Elanor Roosevelt topless on it, right?

How could he possibly imagine that WalMart had $999,424 on hand to return in change? That is well more than most banks keep on hand.

That is what I am trying to wrap my head around. I suspect the answer is meth.

They'd put it on one of those Wal-Mart pre-paid debit card, the one that can't hold more than $500, and confiscate the remaining $998,924.

I don't know what's more sad. That he thought a giant $1m bill was real, or that this is not the first time someone has tried this at WalMart.

When Wal-Mart became "the most respected" corporation in America, I knew we were doomed.

That is all, really.

Conflicting messages conflict.

Such is life.

Life is conflict.

It probably would've worked if the teller had enough change.

Same as the guy a while ago who tried to forge a check on his girlfriend's mom's account for a billion (yeah, $1,000,000,000) dollars. "This will work! Everyone writes checks for a billion!"

Fuller was charged with attempting to obtain property by false pretense and uttering a forged instrument. He is in jail on a $17,500 bond, and it isn't clear if he has an attorney. He is scheduled to be in court Tuesday.

Trying to buy things with it would be attempted theft by fraud/deception, I would think.

I've been wondering where I could buy stacks of Zim cash. It would be great to count out into packs for people to play monopoly with "real" money. It would also be hilarious for random bets with people and other jerk moves where you get to watch the swinging pendulum of emotions from the moment they first get handed the money to the moment it sinks in that it is actually worth way less than the paper it is printed on.

As far giving back the large amount of change I used to work at Target and I typed the amount someone was paying in twice, so instead of being like $12.52 I ended up typing $125212.52 So I ended up with the register thinking I owed the person $125200. Anyway the register started asking for their name and address so I'm figuring it was planning on sending a check for the change. Luckily the register let me back out of it.

/my CSB on what the register would do for that amount of change

Only money issued by the US Treasury is legal tender. Hence, nobody can just create a million-dollar bill and call it legal.

If you ever thought that there is not enough stupid out there to make a difference, it's time to start getting off your arse and making a difference or just agree to keep living in this slowly sinking ship because the water is only up to 1 foot. And 1 foot of water ain't gonna sink this dern boat!

Not entirely accurate. Companies can have their own money but they can't make it look like government issued money and people have to voluntarily agree to use it. How do you think assorted gift cards, certificates, and stuff like Disney Dollars work? You can barter with almost any medium you want as long as both parties agree to it and there is no deception involved. I say almost any medium because things like slavery are both wrong and illegal and will get all the parties involved arrested. Essentially anything which is otherwise freely tradeable can be used as money if the other person agrees to accept it. Where it crosses the line is when you try to force somebody to accept payment for a debt owed and you aren't using US tender.

I like that they went with the '80s metal band font for the amount. I think it's the same font they used for the title during the opening credits of Stallone's "Over the Top".

Wal-mart is a joke. Plain and simple. I refuse to shop there and drive outta my way to go to Target. People are actually pleasant there. And more attractive to say the least.

If I can get this fake million dollar bill for a good price, I definitely want it in my shop.

Nah, if you want picky try reading some of the stuff the secret service does. Picky and completely lacking a sense of humor are two of their primary job req1uirements. They get paid to take everything seriously no matter how absurd it seems (and indeed often is). They also completely lack any sense of irony since they have a uniformed officers division. At least they don't go so far as to actually have the word secret on the uniforms.

But seriously speaking, you can count on this article and fark topic being flagged for review just because of the keywords involved. Just picture it. A man who is required to have no sense of humor is sitting in a little room somewhere spending new years eve reading through this whole thread just to make sure it is a normal news conversation and not instructions on counterfeiting or some other nonsense.

Heh,reminds me of the 250 k of Iraqi dinars i have..thats worth about 8 bucks usd. Still waiting for the economy over there to buck up, and the dinar to revalue where it was before, about 1 dinar equaled 3 usd. I'm not sure how much capital gains takes if if turn them in for usd when they recover. Anyone?
