Every time Starbucks is mentioned on Fark everyone says how they burn their coffee but I've never heard that ILR. It could be that I don't know anyone IRL who drinks Starbuck's coffee. What do you think, Starbuck?

I tried Starbucks once when I received a gift card for Christmas.

I think I was being punished for something.

Free socialist coffee is only going to start a cycle of dependency libtards.

Was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of McDonald's coffee. This is no longer your parents McDonalds.

Last time I got coffee at McDonalds, they had Seattle's Best Coffee. It was pretty good. I don't know if they still have it though, its been a long time.

They've been doing the free coffee offer at all the McDonald's restaurants in my area since at least this past September.

They don't burn the coffee, they burn the beans.

To get a consistent flavor despite having to buy a wide variety of beans from a quality standpoint they "dark roast" their coffee. That's a nice way of saying burn.

I actually like a bold flavor, and some of their grocery coffees are pretty good. But the normal Starbucks roast just doesn't taste right.

This.

Even my local coffeehouse burns their coffee.

I think coffee houses in general burn their coffee.

And the fools with money to burn drink it anyway because god forbid they get caught drinking fast food coffee.

McDonald's iced coffee is more addictive than crack.

Just don't let them add any extra "flavorings", sugar and cream only.

Around here McD's has been coffee focused for some time. They regularly have free small coffee weeks. All the drive through menus are decorated with their coffee/late/cappuccinos and they even welcome you with 'welcome to McCafe'.

There be profit in that black gold.

I'm not saying Starbucks is the greatest brew out there, but at least it tastes like coffee, as opposed to the steeped brown crayon truckstop "coffee" they have at McD's.

Starbucks is not in the business of selling coffee, they are in the business of selling milk. Overpriced chocolate milk for adults.

Subby, I also cannot think of an alternative explanation as to why McDonalds might want to drive traffic to its stores immediately following the new year.

89 Stick-Up Kid: Fark Starbucks. I want my Supersonics back.

Yep. I stopped going to Starbucks a while ago ever since that human piece of excrement Howard Schultz shipped the beloved Supersonics out of town. He betrayed the city that made him rich and famous.

I still think it would be brilliant if some local coffee shops did some sort of "bring back the Sonics" campaign, where they contribute x% of their profits to a fund that will go towards getting us a new team. Seattle is #1 on the list for who will get a new NBA team, we just need to put together the money. And this would be a great way to start.

It would be brilliant. In one act, not only are you taking business away from Starbucks, but you are helping bring the Supes back. Killing two birds with one stone. Every other coffee shop in the NW ought to jump on this idea.

Fark Charbucks.

Coffee is divided into three categories: shiat that works, Not-quite-shiat that works, and shiat that doesn't work (decaf).

Where it comes from and how it tastes is really not much of a concern as long as it fits into the two former categories somewhere.

I was under the impression that most of the city simply didn't care at all that the sonics were leaving. Why should we be wasting money on a basketball team that never wins and demands new stadiums on the tax payer dime?

Did you see what happened to Lower Queen Anne when the Sup's left? Shops, vendors, basically the whole Seattle Center took a hit. The shemales on the Storm and a bunch of lame concerts can't keep the Key alive.

I don't think the city should have bent over for Shultz's group...but we still should not have let a few city council members decide their future. The real crime was letting an out of town buyer take the team away.
