Whoa - the rare Doors reference. And subby bypasses the obvious "Light My Fire" and instead goes with "LA Woman". Somehow....it worked. +1

I used to live right near where about five of those fires started. Not getting a kick, etc.

Of course, since Morrison wrote Love Street at the place that almost burned down, that would be obvious too, but good job anyway subby.

RTFA, people.

I'm betting he'll be caught on video sooner or later.

You know, you could probably sell a few alarm clocks that played that part of the song to gently wake you up in the morning. A little tweaking of the dynamics would probably be necessary, but it would work as an alarm.

that is a great song to have on the radio while driving, day or night.

Damn right it works. As much as I love the icon that LMF has become, LAW is the superior song.

Well, to be fair, that is mentioned nowhere in the article. It's a link going to a different article here (new window)

But you are right, I stopped reading halfway through the article so....

I've been in that house. It was abandoned after Oliver Stone shot the Doors movie there. They ripped the walls down to shoot from the outside. They had to puts the walls back up and tear them down to get different camera angles.

When somebody finally moved in and rehabbed it, he build a two-story totem pole with the heads of Jim, Janis Joplin, John Lennon and Jimi Hendrix with a window to show it off. I think that's why they targeted the house. "Hey, let's go torch the stupid Totem Pole house!" Cuz none of the other fires were near it.

A friend of mine lived next door. I bet he's freaking.

And we got high in there.

/CSB.

Third_Uncle_Eno: that is a great song to have on the radio while driving, day or night.

The Doors put out a lot of crap, variously described as "great American modern poetry". But LA Woman wasn't bad at all.

Of course, L.A. Woman directly references fires in the hills of Los Angeles, just a few lines above where subby echoed. In addition it mentions Hollywood bungalows, alleys, and freeways. This would seem to give L.A. Woman the nod.

Now a more clever subby might have been able to mash up L.A. Woman and Love Street, but really, I think the real issue in subby's mind was whether the modmins would go for the real stretch of the headline, rhyming "cars" with "fires".

There were 3 or 4 fires lit the night before, and 2 guys were arrested, same MO. I live in Hollywood Hills and we have a carport and this sheet isn't funny. Copy cat or not, fire is the worse thing you can do to someone. If they don't kill someone, those people lose everything. FARK FARK FARK these Aholes!
