Remember, student-athletes shouldn't receive any further benefits and compensation, as doing so ruins the spirit of amateur athletics. The "spirit" of amateur athletics also includes the experience of being unpaid runway models for the masturbatory reflexes of constant new designs for Nike, et al.

Sincerely,

The NCAA.

Drew, whatever the Bleacher report people are paying you to put their links on your site, the fark community would be happy to pitch in and at least equal those monies, if not exceed them.

Please let us know how you would like to receive the money, and we trust no more POS bleacher report links will show up on this site.

Sincerely,

Cute roses and all, and not quite as overdone as some of the Nike experiments this year. Ducks - OW. Hope they take those wing thingies in the photo off before game time. Sharp, but incredibly evil looking outfit.

It's those damnable slideshows. Do they really need to be 42 pages long??

Not sure which I'm starting to despise more for ostentatious vanity-- the Phil Knight University Ducks or Nike itself. As a fan of a Pac-10 team, supposedly I'm supposed to root for the Ducks but I just can't bring myself to do it.

/and my team beat them this year.

Finally a Ducks kit that doesn't make we want to vomit. I do like the subtle rose reference in Wisky's look as well. Traditional but still cool. With all the over the top crap being pushed by Nike, UnderArmor and such it's nice to finally see some unis that do not bludgeon you in the eyes as you try and watch the game.

Wisconsin 31
Oregon 28

/prediction added to make post actually about football

Why would you automatically root for another PAC team? If they're not your team then they're a conference rival in which case fark em. Go Badgers.

All I can say about the uniforms is that it's good that you can look at them and think "yeah, that's Wisconsin". With Oregon uniforms you can do the same thing but it's usually for the wrong reasons.

/Fight on

Wait. I've heard the answer to this before and I think it all boils down to "money." I think it's also something like if you suck in a really good conference, then you're better than a team who sucks in a bad conference, so you want all of the other teams in your conference to be good, so your team looks better.

College football logic makes my head asplode, so I stick mostly to the NFL where we hate our division-mates' guts.

Well, at least it took over twenty words before the two competing sports attire companies got mentioned. I guess that's what true sports fans want to see.

That's probably a good guess. I think they are very closely matched. Could go either way. I've thought Oregon was slightly overrated the last couple years. They're really good, just not good enough to contend for the title. That was exposed by their loss to USC. The difference between a true championship caliber team and a really dynamic, innovative regional power type team can only be seen when two teams like that meet on the field. I'm looking forward to see more of it next year during USC's road to the national title.

Also, congratulations to the University of Oregon and the University of Wisconsin, where beer pong isn't just a game, it's also a major.

Oh thank God. I heard the Badgers were getting custom uni's, and I was worried Addidas would want to out eye-burn Nike.

Once again, the Rose Bowl will be the pre-eminent bowl in the bowl lineup. Looking forward to this one.

Instead of the millions of dollars they'd be earning if it were left up to the free market. Even trade right?

The reason that collegiate athletes aren't paid isn't as altruistic as you'd like to think. It's not to protect the integrity of their amateur status or any BS like that. It's because if the universities had to pay them, it would cut into their profit margin.

Or it would destroy every last shred of parity in the NCAA for every sport, small schools simply couldn't compete so unless you want to see USC vs. Notre Dame for the MNC every year that really isn't an option. Most athletic programs already lose millions of dollars so adding player salaries on top of that isn't a realistic answer. But sure keep on spinning your tales of corruption and greed (which are problems but not in this case) and holding the poor black athlete down. Let me guess, you think there should be less bowl games too right?

Do any of you guys remember how horrible Ducks Tshirts and hoodies were in the 80s? I'm glad Nike stepped in.
