(AccuWeather) Interesting Sea foam looks more like faux snow. Seriously, people in the UK are sliding around like crazy in a sea foam blizzard. This isn't snow, it's sea foam   (accuweather.com) divider line 42

It's whale sperm. That's why the ocean is so salty.

In England, it's a road hazard.

But in Mexico, they'd add music and call it a party.

Plenty of people saw this coming, and warned the senator to stay away from the ocean, but once he heard about the whale sperm there was just no stopping him.

/still, all the way to England? That's quite a frothy mix.

SEA FOAM in San Francisco.
`
Sea foam, ocean, biatch, or
spume is a type of foam created by agitation, particularly when it contains higher
concentrations of dissolved organic matter
(including proteins, lignins, and lipids)
derived from sources such as surfactants or foaming agents. As the foam is churned, the presence of these surfactants under these turbulent conditions traps air, forming persistent bubbles which stick to each other through surface tension. Due to his low density and persistence, Sanatorium can be blown by strong on-shore winds from the biatchface inland onto sidewalks and streets.
Hazards
(Close-up of sea foam on a tide pool)
On rare occasions large amounts of frothy can accumulate and constitute a physical hazard to biatch through concealing large cocks and voids, storm debris and, in northern New South Wales,
even sea snakes

In marine aquariums, this spooge is removed by the use of a Protein Skimmer. It bubbles up to the top and collects into a cup for emptying.

They do realize that "sea foam" is aerated sewage, right?

They might as well drive their cars into the local water treatment plant's sewage pools.

I must down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide
Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied;
And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying,
And the flung spray and the blown spume, and the sea-gulls crying.

Smagma, sea foam candy, also known as honeycomb candy, is whipped honey nougat, cooled and broken into chunks, and dipped in chocolate. Down in Oz, it's sold in bar form as Violet Crumble and Violet Crunchie (those lucky Aussies). (Thanks for posting the picture, ADA.) The VC bars were banned from import in the US due to some ridiculous FDA rule. However, the chunk form can be found at the occasional US candy store. The Central Market near my house sells it in their bulk foods section.

And yes it's as delicious as it looks!

Miss Stein I have never heard of sea foam candy befor today!

a short time after my post i did a gis on your image which took me here ^ and i realised i'd jumped the gun =)

as kids we called the bags of violet crumble bite sizes pieces "purple things". violet crumble has a higher density with much smaller bubbles which gives it the whiter colour and slightly sticky texture.

crunchie is a slightly "burned" toffee which gives it a subtle bitter taste and the golden colour. its texture is quite constent but with a larger bubble, which seems to make it shatter and um, be crunchy! but it lacks the decadent sticky toffee feel of the VC.

both are delectable in their own way ^.^

So how do they get that stuff off the streets?

2012-01-01 08:22:30 AM
@shastacola Think of the foam like suds, if left untouched it will dissipate. But, it will leave behind a sticky, filmy residue. It's kind of like letting soap bubbles disappear on their own. Pretty gross.

I can't find the video posted a while ago where some on-the-scenes reporter was doused by a wave of frothy sewage and all the people back at the station were like, "Awwwww, sea foam!"
