Bulk shopping is not a problem Subby. Eating bulk portions for one is a problem.
I've seen far, far more fatties in a Walmart (on those rare occasion where life has been especially cruel) than I have at a Costco (never been to a Sam's Club).

I haven't been this exhausted since I had that job as Jackée Harry's personal grocery shopper.
A pallet? Am I reading this right? You need a pallet of chocolate covered pretzels. Where the hell am I supposed...what is this? A drum of grape jam? Is that like a drum like they ship oil in. Is that...look at this one. A desk of Cheezits? A desk...where are you getting these units of measurement from?

There's nothing wrong with buying in bulk, just as long as you're not consuming it in bulk.

Yep, plus Costco (not sure about Sam's) has great quality produce. Sure you end up with several pounds of it, but I love buying things like asparagus there as it is much cheaper and of better quality than the crap they have at the supermarket.

Yes, and as far as I'm concerned, this...
is too damn small!!!
nscsb: My buddy and I ran to Costco get to a couple jars of these bad boys during our lunch break one day. He was driving. I was holding mine in my lap, but he had his on the side of his lap - the outside, by the door. Sadly, we were in a hurry to get back to work. When he opened the door... Let's just say that we had a long pause. The kind of pause where the realization is setting in, in a slow agonizing way. Kinda like when you get kicked in the 'nads or a toddler bumps their head. We shared a silent cry. Then he picked a few of the ones that were on top of the fallen pile and ate them before kicking the rest of the mess in disgust.

It's where heterosexual men to be aroused by staring at meat.
Acutally, it's a restaurant supplier that is open to the public. The bulk prices on meat smash the warehouse stores. Luckily, not many non-business owners know about or shop there. If I'm going to smoke up a brisket or ribs, that's where I go.

Even with only two of us, it makes sense to buy some things at Sam's because we have storage space for things with no expiration date. Since we do most of our cooking from scratch (and often from homegrown ingredients) we like the staples in bulk. And think about it. A pound of cinnamon for $4 at Sam's or 1.4 oz. at the grocery for 2.89. You can throw half of it away if it gets old and still be ahead of the game.
OTOH, one of my kids lives in a very "compact" condo in a big city. No room to store the bale-o-TP or the gaylord of paper towels.

My mom loves shopping at sam's. I think it might be because you can't find 3 lbs of blueberries anywhere else. How else is she supposed to make all the preserves, pie, jelly and such (most of which gets given away to the homeless shealter. damn homeless people ,eating my pie) that she makes during the holidays? How I say?

Buying your food in bulk, then portioning it all out for freezing and such, might not make a lot if sense for everyone, but when you live an hour away from nearly everything it suddenly makes a lot of sense.
And yeah, if you're full of shiat the toilet paper in bulk is awesome.

Just imagine that it'll take you a long time to use up that jar. And by the time you reach the bottom, that jelly would have become fermented and knock you flat on your drunken PB&J eating ass.

Even for ones where you do have to be a business to shop at, it's not that hard to create a business in most states. I know my friend in PA filed with the state to be an official "business" and was then able to shop at restaurant supply company. He bought large quantities of all sorts of weird stuff.

my baby lives on Costco frozen wild blueberries. Every morning he gets a small pile on his plate (they are great frozen) and shows up to daycare with blue fingers (even washing his hands its hard to get them out).
