I kind of like how the only two "gaffes" on the Democratic side are a misprint and a regrettable oversight, but the other eight are all because the entirety of the GOP presidential field is legitimately that retarded.

2011-12-30 02:13:52 PM
Honestly the two Obama examples could have been left off.

They pale in comparison to the real childish ignorance of the actual Republican gaffes..

I guess TFA wanted to appear "fair and balanced" by including them.

Yeah real fair quoting Hot Air.

4. Bachmann: Confusing John Wayne and a serial killer

Frankly, Bachmann has lied so blatantly about other things that this one is actually not so bad, considering that John Wayne was actually an Iowan.

If the worst they have on Obama is stuff like "promoting jobs while on a foreign-made bus" then I'm ok with it. Gingrich had his own 'Made in the USA' moment with the shirts.. except there was far better material on him anyway.

No Uz-beki-beki-beki-stan-stan?

Wow, they really had to reach to get Obama on there. I wrote the wrong year on a check a month ago! I should be on this list.

Two Obama "gaffes" from biatchy conservatards from Hot Air to make the list look "unbiased".

YodaTuna: Wow, they really had to reach to get Obama on there. I wrote the wrong year on a check a month ago! I should be on this list.

This. How is saying the wrong year a "political gaffe" other than the fact that is was a gaffe by the president? Does that mean W trying to exit stage right through a locked door was a "political gaffe"?

2011-12-30 02:22:15 PM
A gaffe list without Joe Biden?

2011-12-30 02:22:19 PM
A canadian bus? Truly, the world's greatest monster.

2011-12-30 02:22:35 PM
Seems like most of these are from the campaign trails, so they missed the biggest gaffe: the Republicans stonewalling the Democrats on the debt ceiling because they refused to have any tax increases, then stonewalling on the payroll tax cut because of... fark you, that's why. Voters are finally realizing that the Republicans aren't really interested in doing anything to help the economy.

Getting caught sending a picture of your schlong to a woman who isn't your pregnant, newlywed wife and thereby losing your congressional seat isn't a political gaffe?

This list is missing "Republicans voted to end Medicare"

2011-12-30 02:28:43 PM
Leaves out some Obama zingers.

*in Hawaii* "Here in Asia"
or the classic "It's better and more cost effective to treat a kid with asthma than letting it get so bad he shows up in the emergency room. When all he really needs is a breathalyzer"

Are there any US bus manufacturing companies anymore other than those that make school buses?

Seriously, this is a retarded criticism let alone a top 10 one.

Dear "The Week",

A gaffe is not saying dumbass shiat you actually believe, like most of the GOP "gaffes" you've listed. It's just being stupid/crazy!!

2011-12-30 02:32:33 PM
It was amazing in the case of Sarah Palin and "Paul Revere warned the British" how the truth squad tried to fix the fact that reality has a liberal bias by changing reality.

Well it was a "gaffe" the others were crazy positions that the GOP actually believe.

I know Michelle Bachmann says consistently ridiculous shiat on a daily basis, but the HPV vaccine gaffe was, IMO, the one that really changed her standing in the polls. The minute she spewed that gem, her poll standing sank into the single digits.

Followed by her meta-gaffe of swearing up and down she hadn't had any gaffes.

I think the list was only gaffes by people in the 2012 Presidential race.

The main problem with trying to list the top ten Republican gaffes is that no matter when you write it, it'll probably be obsolete in pretty short order.

For instance, Rick Perry is unaware that Canada is a foreign country. That just happened.

2011-12-30 03:11:42 PM
Hilarious how egomaniac Gingrich didn't realize how his honest comments on the Ryan plan would be received but I still have to give the crown to the Queen of Derp. Considering her professed reverence for the Founders her confusion of elementary level history put her hypocrisy front and center and her attempts at damage control again revealed her unwarranted vanity.

All for a fake political campaign.

This is actually better than I expected. I expected five manufactured Democratic non-issues against five actual R gaffes.

They could have easily amassed a list in the thousands had they just mentioned anything tumbling from Michele Bachmann's or Rick Perry's lips.

a Democratic gaffe would have to be "manufactured". This is what ADEO actually believes.

I realize that this list focused entirely on 2012 Presidential candidates, but it's a darn shame that "Not intended to be a factual statement" isn't at the head of the list. Even bigger shame that it doesn't seem to be appearing on any other blunder lists as well, when it will probably go down in history as one of the greatest foot-in-mouth moments ever.

You'd think, except that as far as I can tell, "Well, it was a lie, but it was a deliberate, malicious lie, so it's okay," actually seems to have been largely accepted as an excuse.

I would love to be in a debate with him. I'd ask after every statement he made if it was intended to be a factual statement.

Huh. You'd think Scott Walker's 20+ minute phone conversation with the fake Koch brother might make the list.
