You say it like it's a bad thing...

It looks like someone tore off half the guy's mustache with duct tape.

I usually think the claims of trauma are exaggerated, but at 2 years and 10 months? WTF? Of course the kids were terrified.

You think that physical harm is the only kind of trauma.

Not at all. I just think kids are bit more resilient that way than we usually give them credit for. And physical abuse causes both physical and mental harm. I don't mean to minimize the mental component. I'm just saying at those ages it's even going to more traumatic. They don't have the mental compensatory mechanisms.

I duct taped my daughter to her door, put a santa hat on her, and took pictures to send to family that said "Send presents and we will let the little girl go". We had a blast. She is 14 and was in on it. That being said taping a toddler and an infant to things is a farked up thing to do. There is no way they enjoyed that.

The key to good parenting is differentiating between what your animal brain thinks might be rewarding to do to the screaming monsters and doing what your civilized brain knows is the correct and constructive way to deal with a little person you really do love and couldn't live without.

But that these kids did that to such young babies? Kinda scary sick.

When I was a toddler I'd have found this hilarious.

My sister is an attorney who does a lot of Child In Need of Care cases, I file for her because she runs out of a small office and doesn't really have a paralegal, and she fixes tickets for me for free, I can assure you, this is not even close to one of the most horrendous things I've seen.

So duct tape doesn't fix everything.

Now we know.

Well it is excessive, they really arent that strong, I've found that a velcro pad on the wall keeps the kids up and out of the way for hours at a time. You just have to make sure the kids are wearing the footie style flannel pajamas and boom, instant babysitter.

I can see how this could be a game for everyone involved. Kids like playing with tape. And you can't really tell the difference between someone having a blast and in terror just from the eyes.

Parents that are intentionally abusing their kids don't post the pictures on Facebook. I'm sure these folks thought they were all having a good time, and maybe didn't think things through enough.

The most they're going to get will be a suspended sentence and some mandatory parenting classes. And of course a few months of being scared shiatless that their kids will be taken away.

Yeah, had her first kid at 17, I guess. These losers are just some immature idiots that have no business raising a child. And I am shocked to hear that they had a piece of exercise equipment in their home. But I would bet there's an x-box

I used duct tape on my daughter. She was a bit older than the kids in the article.

A year later, her and her mother retaliated. I was zip-tied to my office chair.

I assume they aren't showing the pictures because the kids are probably shown squeeling with delight.

The children's mouths were taped shut

Hmmm... ok, maybe not.

Who says Facebook doesn't have socially redeeming value?

There's always some murderer, child pornographer, wife beater, or child abuser getting caught because of it.

No. No it doesn't really. I'm not a big fan of cops, but they see some pretty sick shiat. If a cop was willing to go on record saying it was farked up, it was probably farked up.
