This thing came on when I was in middle school, at the height of the "roller disco" phenomenon, and I liked the show. Even then, I facepalmed at that roller disco sequence. Five hundred years into the future, and you're still doing that stupid crap?

Why did I read that as "Buck Owens"?

Now here is series that really needs a re-boot, but not a BSG style re-boot. No this needs to be all a about the pew-pew-pew and the cheese cake and the beef cake in ridiculously scanty clothing, lots of shirtless buff guys and hard body gals in bikini like getup's. Or better yet put it on a premium cable network and have the actors go in the buff, because hey in the future their is no need for clothes or modesty.

I'd say number 10 is almost here now.

I just came here to say two things:

1) Erin Gray was fantastically hot and I recognized this in my pre pubescent years

and

B) The space vampire scared the living crap outta me when I was a kid.

Can we expect paunchy middle-aged men to walk around with girdles? I can just imagine what it must have been like on set back then....

Your fun and heartbreaking fact of the day: Erin Gray auditioned for the part of Janeway on Voyager.

Put me in with the "Erin Gray made me have funny feelings in my bathing suit area" crowd.

No....on second thought... don't put me in with that crowd. They smell of shame and the lingering stench of Pong.

Erin Gray was especially hot in the Space Vampire episode; at one point she is "taken over" and is "programmed" for wanting teh sex with Buck...like a sorority co-ed blitzed on Jagerbombs... and he's too busy to do anything about it.

I wish more good-looking women would cosplay Wilma Deering at cons today...sigh...

That alternate title sequence is one I never saw... even in the theater. And yes, I saw the pilot for this when it was released in movie theaters. I remember they had the "sensurround" speakers bass cranked for the spaceship sounds.

We knew it was utter cheese at the time, but you have to remember, we didn't have a lot of choices available.

I does amuse me that the show did many to fairly accurately predict electronic music and ravers. Sure, looking back it isn't that much of a stretch when compared to some of the disco clubs but it is still pretty close to what is out there now. Well, accurate as long as you ignore being off by a few centuries and having said rave club be on a space station.

going off what your are observing. It's the same ole damn party music. ;)

Disco never died, it just turned into such things as House music and so on and so forth.. case in point, If lady gaga was around back during that time frame, she wouldve been considered "disco"
there is no reason to think that we would be dealing with the simular type of music and the pop culture surronding for the decades and centuries to come.

you gotta remember that Pop music, in all it's forms can be dissected down to a couple of Mathematical and Psychological equations. Get the scientific formula down and people are compelled to eat that shiat up.
