I get what you're going for, but PSN going down never stopped Netflix from working on the PS3. It may have caused a couple extra button pushes before you get into it, but it worked fine.

I'll forever be pissed they never caught the bastards who stole all that info from PSN. The whole mess really showed how self centered and self entitled hackers and pirates see themselves.

The blackberry thing I tend to laugh about. When other smartphones started to have easy access to email, it pretty much spelled the end for them. One trick pony companies don't tend to do well if they cannot adapt to the new marketplace.

I have to feel bad for gearbox and duke forever. 3d realms handed them a turd, and no amount of polish could have made it a great game. Still, a properly planned and developed new entry is sure to be in the works, and I think gearbox can pull off something that truly does the king justice.

Netflix just got screwed by movie companies wanting more money, really left them in a tight spot. That was understandable, but trying to spin off the dvd side into a separate company was just stupid.

Netflix has become the most annoying type of ex, the constant emails begging to come back without offering anything new or of value.

The most interesting thing about that list to me is the number of companies that changed their mind after receiving internet backlash.

Duke Nukem Forever was less fun than an anal fissure. That game blew.

I don't care. I'm not doing that Xoom pose.

To be fair, at least an anal fissure wouldn't be in a straight line.

I find more interesting the number of companies that are actually standing by SOPA, even after all this backlash. Seems like a bad business decision, especially if you have little or nothing to gain from it.

/Personally, think SOPA is BS anyway.
//Government regulation is OK, as long as it benefits companies while hurting individuals.

I bought Duke Forever a couple of days ago for $5 on Steam, and you know what? I like it. I actually am having a lot of fun playing through it. There are definitely parts that could be better, but it isn't nearly as bad as all the reviews have made it out to be. Some of the things spouted as wrong with the game had me laughing my ass off.

/maybe I'm just not jaded enough

Netflix generally has really terrible marketing / PR / customer service. The tech fail associated with them is Silverlight, the flat-out worst streaming media player I've ever used, and they can't even do proper custmer service email. The user interface for queue management is a sad design mess, and they don't give you enough warning about which items are going to expire from availability.

They have a great service for the price, but they are training their customer base to abandon them as soon as Amazon or someone else gets their crap together -- because someone else will soon offer the same kind of service without the indifferent incompetence. I liked Netflix a whole lot at first, but . . . yeah.

I have Amazon Prime, so I'm...really, when I already had Amazon Prime when I also had Netflix. When Netflix decided to be a dick about things, I jumped to Amazon, and you know what? Not much of a difference. I spend just as much time on AP sifting through shiatty TV shows and third-rate movies as I did on Netflix. There is little difference between the two, so long as you have a streaming HEPC or Blu-Ray player (or both, like me) connected to your TV.

I still find myself amazed by how both Netflix and Amazon trumpet their acquisitions...we made a deal for YOU, the consumer, so now you can see ALL of the seasons of Bones and Ally McBeal! Congratulations!

Me: I can't count how may farks I don't give.

/still can't believe people get hyped about many of the free shows
//yes, even Two and a Half Men, which is godawful

Not enough backlash. We need Paul Christoforo to send out an email about it before people get riled up.

No, we just need a focus for nerd rage. Maybe mention that SOPA is the reason George Lucas keeps screwing with the original Star Wars trilogy.

'Duke Nukem Forever'

Now available for $9.99 at Walmart.

At this pace, they will be giving them away by February.

Another way to look at it is that it exposed how lousy the PSN's security was. I'd personally like a law introduced about storing passwords in the clear, that people who do it get their bollocks nailed to a tree.

FTFA: When video gamers wait 14 years for a follow-up to one of their favorite titles, they sort of expect it not to suck.

No, when a game takes 14 years to complete, video gamers are surprised if it DOESN'T suck.

/it sucked
//wasn't surprised
