I think Luck may wind up in Cleveland.

Scenario:
-Colts win Sunday over the Jags to go 3-13. Players are playing to save a now practicing Manning.
-Rams lose Sunday to a SF team that needs a win to stay in the 2 seed. Fall to 2-12.
-Rams trade the first pick as they are content with Bradford.
-The Browns are probably the team in the best position to make the trade. They don't have another big QB contract on roster (and McCoy is a FA). They have picks to spare with the king's ransom in picks that ATL gave them for Julio Jones. They also will be trading a high 1st round pick for likely 2 years as Luck still wouldn't have anyone to throw to.

Who is in better position in terms of tradable assets in the next 2 years to make that trade?

Furthermore, getting a player the caliber of Luck on a rookie contract is perfect for a small market team that will have money to spend on FA's and an actual draw to get them to sign.

Is he worried they will ask him to babysit?
I'm sure they can afford to hire nannies...

Deneb81 I was thinking the same. I'm not sure I'm finished with McCoy but I wouldn't blame him if he left. He's never been given a reason to feel comfortable in Cleveland and I feel for the kid. But by God, if we do get Luck, we better stick with him for once. This qb carousel needs to stop.

If the Browns have the opportunity to pick up Luck, you should honestly just quit being a Browns fan if they don't. That franchise has needed a QB more than Baltimore since they came back. He's certainly a more sure (not 100% but more certain) thing than any of their other realistic options. McCoy just isn't that good. Who else is there? Jason Campbell? Rodgers' backup? I guess if they really liked RG3 AND he came out of college AND they think he'd actually fall to them they might make a play there but there's not much else.

I don't think Luck is the answer. The Browns need a good mobile QB that can take over a game and do it himself when everything falls apart(which happens often for the Browns). Luck is not that guy coming out of college. He'll get pounded just like McCoy and be out of the league in 5 years with persistent post-concussion syndrome. RG3 may be the best choice for them, simply because of his mobility. As far as Campbell or Flynn, no on Campbell and doubtful on Flynn.

Of the Brownies? I'd be more afraid of how Baltimore's defense is going to phase in new people for Ray and Ed Reed. Or when their luck will change with CB's who washed out in Oakland. Besides, Luck would have two linemen worth a damn in Cleveland. It would be like David Carr if he didn't have a young Andre Johnson with him.

I don't get what makes people continually say this. He's doing pretty damn good for having a team leading in dropped passes, with wide recievers like Greg Little and MoMass, with no real running game to speak of what so ever(Cleveland is 28th in rushing yards, 31st in yards per carry and tied with Kansas City for dead last in rushing TDs). Quite frankly with the talent around him, facing three of the best Ds in the league(#1, #3 and #6 respectively) six times a year AND facing the #2 and #4 ranked defense, Colt McCoy has been nothing short of a descended god.

Don't keep changing QBs, stick with the young developing guy you've got, but give him actual PEOPLE to THROW TOO, or a running back to hand it off too and, I don't know, take some pressure off him?

Luck is a mobile QB, more in the vein of Aaron Rodgers, but mobile nonetheless.

And I don't think that's good enough, simply because the quality of receiver on the Browns is.. well. nil.

Maybe if they drafted a wideout instead of a quarterback...

He's only had one concussion and only been sacked 32 times this year(For comparison, Rodgers has been sacked 36 times, Tom Brady 28, etc).
