Lithium is okay for energy storage, but if you want to
produce
green energy, go with thorium.

Some people may not know this, but if you put a chunk of lithium onto a surface of water, it will fizzle as it produces hydrogen and have even burst into flames.

A few months ago there was a video link about that showing the metals that do that. Really cool.

Lithium is seen as the green energy fuel of the future
Lithium is not a fuel you farking moran.
Lithium ion batteries are an energy
storage
device.
STORAGE!
You have to get the energy from somewhere else.
From a FUEL source. solar, wind, nuclear, fossil, hydro, SOMETHING.

It's amazing. You can lift your head up and look at a hydrogen fuel reaction in action every goddamn day, but you apparently think it's a battery.

I'm not sure what this means. Does this mean that you disbelieve that the RS-68 engine has not and is not currently being used by NASA to power rocket vehicles? Does it mean that you disbelieve that the RS-68 is an engine that uses hydrogen fuel?
Or is this just you intransigently unable to admit being wrong and failing to come up with a coherent argument?

The H2 it burns is not found naturally on Earth. You have to liberate it from hydrocarbons (primary fuel source) or water (which requires a seperate fuel source.
Sans fusion, and even in a rocket, hydrogen is an energy storage mechanism, not a primary source.

Hydrogen can be burned with oxygen to free energy. That is the definition of fuel in an oxygen-burning context. It is no more a "battery" or "energy storage mechanism" than oil - the difference is, of course, is that it takes more energy to get liquid H2 than we can recover from it. With research, perhaps as much research as has been put into oil, that could change. Reducing that fact to calling hydrogen an "energy storage mechanism" is a gross simplification that overlooks the fact that it is no less a mechanism for storing energy than any other oxygen-requiring fuel.

The word Bolivia gets me all ragey because it reminds me of the denouement of the last Bond movie. What exactly do you think fuel is if not a medium for energy storage? Is it a simplification, certainly, but this IS Fark after all.

Nah, we did not go to war with Venezuela and we get more oil from there than the Middle East . They are closer to the US and have about the same level of military incompetence. My guess is that Bolivia's commies will screw this up they way Chavez has the oil industry in Venezuela.
Besides we need to forget the electric battery car nonsense and go with hydrogen fuel cells.

Nope. You're there.
Fuel cell = chemical reaction = chemical bond energy released.
Sun = fusion reaction = matter converted into energy (mass deficiency, E=mc
