The H2 it burns is not found naturally on Earth. You have to liberate it from hydrocarbons (primary fuel source) or water (which requires a seperate fuel source.

It is no more a "battery" or "energy storage mechanism" than oil - the difference is, of course, is that it takes more energy to get liquid H2 than we can recover from it. With research, perhaps as much research as has been put into oil, that could change. Reducing that fact to calling hydrogen an "energy storage mechanism" is a gross simplification that overlooks the fact that it is no less a mechanism for storing energy than any other oxygen-requiring fuel.

Nah, we did not go to war with Venezuela and we get more oil from there than the Middle East . They are closer to the US and have about the same level of military incompetence. My guess is that Bolivia's commies will screw this up they way Chavez has the oil industry in Venezuela.
