Your GOP candidate for president is Mitt Romney, and you've always supported him. This is all a show for the benefit of the media.

Subby, are you claiming the Iowa state GOP lacks credibility?

So a party that has spent the last four years recruiting the "Obama is taking away our freedoms" is about to appear to take away the Freedom of free and fair elections? This means if Paul loses Iowa his people will demand he runs a third party, thus sinking the GOP nominee.

Just as planned.

The GoP is farking around, and looking for a scapegoat this election cycle. They want a fall guy. They will try to recoup the next election cycle. They know they can't win with any of the players they have in the field.

I would prefer to have Gary Johnson sink the GOP nominee.

/maybe there will be a Republican clamor for Approval voting. Hey, it could happen. In an alternate universe.

Wow this should bring out the conspiracy nuts.

Although personally I can't wait for RON PAUL's Ross Perot "They sabotaged my daughter's wedding!" moment...

It's more that the GOP in general dislikes uncertainty

Va. GOP will require loyalty oath in presidential primary (new window)

fta The state Republican Party will require voters to sign a loyalty oath in order to participate in the March 6 presidential primary.

Anyone who wants to vote must sign a form at the polling place pledging to support the eventual Republican nominee for president. Anyone who refuses to sign will be barred from voting in the primary.

Don't forget that Rick Perry is suing Virginia because he couldn't meet the requirements to be on the primary ballot, so he feels that he should be on the ballot alongside the candidates who actually went through the process the correct way.

I remember laughing at 3rd world shiatholes when reading about this kind of stuff in their elections. It wasn't all that long ago. Now we've got example after example of the GOP at local, state, and national levels doing the very things we used to hear about from places like Iran, to which we would say "wow, what a sham their elections are, I'm so happy it's not like that here." What's frightening is that as it's now happening here there is a large part of our populace cheering it on simply because "Hey, I'm a Republican and I want my team to win at all costs, so I support this latest election fraud they are committing." This isn't a farking football game.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe I read on my local VA news site yesterday that a state judge shot down the lawsuit. His staff failed to meet the criteria to get his name on the ballot and he can't pitch a biatch fit to get it changed now.

Only on Fark can a story about the Occupy Wall Street terrorists threatening our Right to Democracy turn into a story about Republicans trying to suppress Ron Paul.

Not that there's reason not to believe that there's shenanigans. Remember the joy of the New Hampshire primary in 2008 - "This building is secure"?

But Perry can file and 11th hour appeal to the Governor for clemency, right?

I don't see the problem with this. So the GOP eliminates free and fair elections. Who cares? As long as they pick the candidate I voted for.

I also had this thought: The 2012 Republican primaries pretty much amount to the '73 Belmont, with the candidates fighting it out over who gets to take second behind the relative Secretariat that is Barack Obama.

/And Mitt Romney looks like Sham.
