A img1.fark.net and a img1.fark.netimg1.fark.netat the same time. There are other places to rob that won't come with as much jail time. I guess she was making a point nonetheless.

"According to the report, Rivera then jumped in a cab and after telling the driver of her recent heist, offered him a sizable tip if he agreed to chauffeur her to additional banks in the area.
But the woman's would-be spree came to an abrupt end when the driver opted to drop her off at a nearby park and flagged down police."

Because cabbies don't want a partner when they're stealing your money.

It sounds like her elevator doesn't go to the top floor. She's a taco short of a combo platter. She's a small fry short of a happy meal. In other words, she's retarded.

An article that describes what happened from the cabbie's POV:

Cab driver tells of unsettling ride from bank-robber suspect (new window)

Includes such gems as:

When they arrived at the housing project, the meter was at $10.80. She handed him three fives and five singles, a tip Levin recalled seemed rather small given the circumstances.

"I'm thinking, 'If I'd robbed a bank, I'd give the cab driver at least $100,' " Levin said.

So you're not crazy if you rob a bank. (After all, that's theoretically where the money is supposed to be.)

But you're crazy if you give the money away...

/is it just me?
//or is this bothering anyone else too?

I don't know much about robbing banks but....

How does one rob a bank and only manage to get $652? I'm really curious - I always envisioned a bank robber getting away with, at least, 100k. If you want $600 - I figured you'd rob a McDonalds or something.

Its pretty rare for a bank robbery to yield more than a few thousand dollars these days. Any form of robbery really isnt worth doing when you consider the risk vs just stealing things when no one is around.

People who do commit armed robberies usually arent right in the head, which of course is what makes the situation so dangerous. You cant trust that someone who is robbing you is operating logically.

Didn't Robin Hood steal from a corrupt, over-taxing government?

I'm sick and tired of everyone getting this wrong...

Robin Hood did NOT steal from the Rich, Robin Hood did NOT steal from the Banks, Robin Hood stole from Prince John's Tax Collectors.

The only action that can be ACCURATELY compared to Robin Hood is stealing directly from the IRS or state tax agency, in the US.

Princepapa: Didn't Robin Hood steal from a corrupt, over-taxing government?

You are correct. He stole from the tax collectors. Not the rich. Not the banks. Even the nobles were impoverished under Prince John's taxation.

However, some historical sources indicate it may be King Richard III's fault for bankrupting the country fighting the Crusades.

But yes, Robin Hood stole from the tax collectors, not the rich, not the wealthy.

John was a horrible administrator, who then lost England's holdings in France, increasing the tax burden significantly.

Also, Robin Hood doesn't real.

The short of it is this (having worked for a bank):

Banks have no money. At least not in paper form... Why would they? Someone could steal it... So most of the "money" you have is actually digital today, there are plenty of calculators on the internet that show the actual amount of "real" money and it is far less than the electronic money we use daily with our debit cards and credit cards.

So, in short, if you "rob" a bank, you are an idiot. -You'd do better to rob a CEO personally in downtown New York, you could probably score a Rolex, all the money in his pocket, and designer clothes if you so chose. In addition, you might be able to get away with removing a large amount of money via his credit and debit card... Easily one executive would yield much more than any bank, and probably no one would hate you for robbing him.

/just imagine the CEO of Goldman Sachs crying that someone stole his wallet.
//I can hear the world's smallest violin playing already.

Well, I suppose if one is going to have the Crazy, at least it included handing out dollars to kids.
