Well they were just foster kids-not like they were hers or anything. Technically this would put in line for "care taker (or lack there of) of the year"

What does it being Christmas Eve day have to do with anything? Some people don't recognize or celebrate Christmas. In fact it was probably a good day to go, not much of a crowd to deal with.

And then there are foster moms like a friend of mine who takes it serious enough that she officially finalized the adoption of one of her now former foster children and wants to adopt another.

This coont in the story needs a slap upside the head, among other things.

One of my friends calls me every christmas eve, inviting me to spend it with her family because I choose to spend it alone, eating sushi, and watching movies. One year she even drove over to my place to try and get me to come over and hang out with her and her husband and her parents and sister and brother-in-law. She does not understand that I do not enjoy christmas and like spending it alone.

Actually, I have explained it to her. Every year for the 5 or 6 years that I have known her! Even her husband has tried to explain it to her. This is just one of her "quirks" that she does not get (she is from a very close, Eastern European family). And, yes, she is a great friend.

And just to clarify, I was not blaming her for anything. My intent was to merely point out the difference between her and me.
