Pats play for the HFA this weekend. He'd play if he was missing a leg.

Enjoy the greatness of the qb play we have right now in the NFL while you can. Peyton appears done, but...who knows?. Aaron is in another world right now but even that won't last. Brees is there with him and actually one step higher with this last weekends pass by Marino. . The up and comers to the QB greatness throne are the Dalton, Cam, and maybe Eli, but Elis window is already closing and he has not been very good when he was needed most this year. If I was gonna build a team starting today, my first pick would be Andy Dalton.

Pretty much. Did I miss the week when Tebow was annointed the second coming of John Elway? He's done a good job, but he's only played half a season. Hell, Trent Dilfer had one good season.

Let's wait a while to see if he's the real deal or a flash in the pan.

What's God's punishment for Ryan Fitzpatrick? Was it the long term contract the Bills gave him? That sounds like some type of curse.

He's not tall enough. And in Cleveland, he'll be lucky to escape with all his extremities attached.

Rodgers turned 28 less than a month ago. He'll likely play for another 6-8 years at a high level. Dalton is good, but you'd be a moron to take an unproven rookie over a 28 year old beast of a QB with only a few years of wear and tear.

Now that one I thought about, alot. He has Megatron, but for how long and can the Lions maintain the Mo and get a truly dominant RB to balance the attack? Morris, Williams, Smith and Bell are all average only. And they need a real dependable second slot threat, like an Austin or Welker. Lions are close, very close......I will give them that much, I hope they make for real playoff chaos this year.

Well, I was, sorta. If I had to draft a team for the next 10 years is really what I meant. Sure, Aaron is #1, but I was thinking beyond the established heirarchy.

I'm still thinking that I'd take Rodgers for the next 10. He's 28 and only played a few years of pro-ball after sitting behind Favre. None of the new wunderkinds are proven yet.

Stafford and Bradford seem a bit fragile, and only Stafford has proven the ability to actually win games.
Dalton's rookie year has been about as good as Matt Ryan's, who 4 years and good, but still not what anyone would call 'elite'. He's got a bit to go before I hand him a 10 year contract.
Cam Newton is probably closer to a superstar than any of them - he holds the QB Rushing TD record AND the Rookie passing yards record.

All in all, I'd take Rogers for 10 years over anyone in the league, even if you factor in that he'll be 38 at the end of it.

Just as he commanded Noah to sacrifice his son, Isaac, God is causing all these fumbles and ints by Tim Tebow as a test of faith. And just as Isaac was spared, so will the Bronco's playoff hopes, as Tebow will guide his people to freedom over the Israelites, and cast the false idol Nebuchadnezzar (Orton) into the great, burning pit of avocado pits.

Brett Farve dies in a tragic penis photography incident. He goes to heaven and finds God waiting for him at the Pearly Gates. "I thought I was supposed to meet Saint Peter" he says. God replies "well I'm a huge football fan, I make it a point to greet all the greats personally. Let me show you to your new house."

As they walk along the streets of gold, Brett Farve reflects on his life and career, thinking about his coaches and teammates. Suddenly, God is standing still and motioning to a large mansion. Farve is impressed. The mansion is 3 stories tall and has a large statuary spread over a small lawn in the front. The exterior has exquisite details, and Brett begins to feel a little choked up about the appreciation that God is showing him.

Then he sees a house two doors up the street. This other mansion is four times the size of his. It stands 5 stories tall and has a massive front lawn with a glorious statute of a Bronco in the center. The entire house is painted a deep blue with horrendous looking orange trim, and draped across the front with letters the size of a human being is a banner reading "Tebow Time".

Farve is taken aback. "Look God, I don't want to appear unappreciative, but I am a legend in the NFL. This Tebow guy, he's just starting. Sure he might show promise, and that's debatable, but he hasn't really done anything yet. Why is his house bigger than mine?"

God gives Farve a slightly confused look and says "Tim Tebow? That's my house."

Flacco, Sanchez, and Romo are not elite but they are good enough to break your heart every farking year.

Also a Raven's Fan, but it isn't Flacco that breaks your heart, it is the offensive coordinator/head coach that thinks Flacco is elite that breaks your heart. I'll even admit the Ravens could be two dropped/incomplete late game catches from not even being in the playoffs right now. We have been lucky this season, but the coaches confuse that with skill/ability.

/Run the damn ball. A pounding running game doesn't make its impact until the 2nd half when the opposing D-line is tired and beaten. That's when you get big runs and play-action works like a charm.
//That's how Dilfer won a superbowl, even he will admit it. The team is built for it, the fans except a 9-6 grinding win, it is the management that can't seem to work with it.

I got HTML'd! What I meant was that I think Dalton is overrated and that if we're starting a team from scratch and the QB talent pool extends to someone who is Eli Manning's age than I'd take Rodgers. If it were between Dalton and Newton I would take Newton. Dalton reminds me of Matt Ryan. Matt Ryan isn't a terrible QB but he's never really impressed me that much either. Anyway, it was a reaction to what Lt Cheese had posted.

Oh, that makes more sense.

It's a combination really. I think we need to bring someone on who is really skilled for their QB development. Locally they're all asking for Norv Turner but I don't see that happening. I agree on the run first mindset needing to be more central.

Joe can throw the ball, but he needs to be in good situations with good scheming which doesn't seem to be Cam Cameron's goal. I see Cam as the parent who tries to live through his kids. He is trying to live through Joe and apparently wants to unleash the dagron all the freaking time!

I've met the guy in person and while he's not what you'd call "short" for the average guy, he's tiny by NFL standards. I think his listed height of 6' might be embellished. I'm 5'11 and we were eye-to-eye.

Baseball is an individual game, football is a team game. Football Outsiders does their damnedest to try and reduce the game to numbers but the nature of the game confounds most of their data. shiat, in the NFL Fantasy Points are as good an indicator as anything of a players production.

Plus, only 16 games a year means playing to the averages is risky.
