They had guest hosts on today talking about Shaq doing some WWE thing and called wrestling "fake" in that no one believes the storylines are actual events but the performers have to be in incredible shape.

Guy from Oklahoma calls in and gets mad at them and says it's real. His evidence? "Look how mad they get at each other. You don't get that mad and not mean it."

I think Oklahoma guy believes Harrison Ford is actually a rough and tumble archeologist who flies spaceships on the side.

In all seriousness I would say that his career in fake wrestling is what pretty much ruined his chances of entering MMA when his skill set of pure collegiate wrestling would have carried him quite far. People seem to forget that Cock Chestnar did "fo realz" wrestling and was a 2 time NCAA champ. Brock might have developed as a more rounded fighter if he got into MMA in it's infancy and organically added submissions and striking as the sport itself evolved . We'll never know because by now there is no way that a guy with such a narrow scope has a prayer against guys that went into wrestling in highschool or college BECAUSE they want to be fighters after college. He missed his window of feasability. Bobby Lashly too. Ha dhigher hopes for him because he began doing smaller venues but he never developed into much more than a black Mark Coleman. Vicious ground and pound but little else including cardio.


Instead he took the path of fake wrestling. It made him a farkton of money but it didn't make him happy apparently. There is no way he could have made that kind of bank in the bad old days of the UFC. Like many fake wrestlers before him he took that job mostly because he wasn't good enough for the NFL.

Wow, the naivety in that article is astounding. Is this guy 11 years old? He acknowledges that pro wrestling matches are scripted, but the comment about no other wrestler having as much "success" in such a short career implies that he doesn't get that Lesnar "won" over other big names because the handlers realized that to maximize his profitability, he had to beat everybody.

Whatever Lesnar profited as a WWE wrestler, they profited 50x as much by having him wrestle for the WWE. When they wouldn't pay him what he thought his drawing potential was worth, he walked.

And the UFC would have noticed that he was a physical freak with a huge personality without caring if he had ever wrestled. If anything, it hurt him, its not like the UFC is looking for pro wrestling comparisons.
