No, but they are Norwegian. I'm sure they spell things differently there.

Newsroom editor Solveig Tvedt conceded that she and her team hadn't properly examined the chart before going to air.

My friend authored a fake Twitter feed posing as the official information ministry of North Korea.
(new window)

He shut it down because one of Norway's news stations, following it, reported that North Korea had declared war on Cyrpus.

It's so hard to tell when Norwegians are joking.

Norwegians are Nature's straight man.

But enough Norwegians know English for the Norwegian masses to appreciate the joke, if it was a joke.

And unless the culprit fesses up, we will never really know if this was sloppy work or a really good gag.

All you have to go is search Aftenposten. I'm 98% sure it was them if it was anybody. They're a conservative paper with a tabloid-style edge of silly news stories of dubious veracity and origin.

Look, Even in Norway STFU is STFU. Ain't no language barrier on The internet. Many of my cousins there post in Internetspeak when conversing on social sites.

The segment was on senior eye treatments. They thought seniors wouldn't notice and every else wouldn't care. It was probably set-up by one of the boobs in the picture.

/I have dyslexic fingers today.

chuckufarlie: Oh my God in Norwegian is Herregud. OMG would mean nothing to them.

Everybody in the Scandinavian countries speak and use American English like it's their native language. They (and everyone else on the planet that has an internet connection [ergo, not North Korea]) know all the 1337 speak and internet idioms that we have. Probably created some new english ones for us to use, too.

Wow, I had assumed it was shopped too (previously saw a still). It's real? Neato. The talking is funny too -- that doesn't even sound like a real language.

bump: Using various 'googled' images for a broadcast??... usually the legal dept tends to frown on such things (Getty, Comstock & the lot get angry)...

And this. WTF is with media using random googled images so often? It's a bad idea on so many levels. Mainstream media sucks. That's why I like to get all my news from Ken at Popehat and his friends. :-)
