They get along "OK." However, Mr. Ulibarri fills up water jugs with tap water when he visits Denver, over 100 miles away, even though Ms. Newman, whose home is only a vacant house, a boarded-up Methodist church and dozens of junked cars away, has a good well for drinking water. So they could get along more OK than they do.

Don't abandoned town suddenly become hubs for binge-drinking and all sorts of fun debaucheries?.

Either that, or the creepiest place where a serial killer might lurk.

For some people, not bothering each other is the pinnacle of getting along. Not everyone needs or wants more than that from their neighbors.

That's exactly what they want you to think.

And when you're chained up in Mr. Ulibarri's cellar, just remember: there's no one for miles to hear you scream.

cjoshuav: What the Hell? She won't even let him get water from her well?

I'd guess that she knows better than to offer and he knows better than to ask. Probably neither wants to deal with the other that often and they're avoiding any drama or hard feelings that might come up over things like maintaining the pump or how much water is being taken.

If these people didn't put a high value on being left the fark alone, they would have probably moved somewhere else by now.

Thanks, it is indeed. My wife keeps telling me to send it back for an exchange since it's gotten a few holes worn in it, but I've been putting it off. Looks a little disreputable, but it's more comfortable than ever.

Colorado is okay, but thanks to having a big city in the state they have a lot of farked up citified laws that make living out in the boonies not quite as good as it could be. Wyoming is WAY better on every level in my opinion.

Wow, and I thought I lived out of town. I'm 10 miles from the grocery store [town of about 10k] and I thought it was a small town. It's small enough to be nice, big enough. However, it's on the open sore that is I-70.

Love the mountains, wish it would snow. Now. Please?
