Whatever, man. My photoblog featuring pictures of every meal and snack I eat gets at least one or two comments EVERY DAY.

Back in the days of yore, we used clay cylinders. So don't talk to me about blogging till you read my etchings, biatch!

Blogging is like cappucinos. They went through a popular phase, then went off peak but never went away, and meanwhile morphed into other shiat like twitter and lattes and tumblr.

One, he's talking about tech blogs and technology is immensely subject to fashion and fleeting interest. Nature of the field. So Romero is apt, however what gets me and I think he's onto something is the short attention span demands shorter posts (and rise of infographics). There are so many interesting things online that I cannot simply keep up... and I don't really have a huge social life and work is simple. Still, cannot keep up and I'm just overwhelmed and filled with a sense of disgust with trivia (and I'm an info junkie to boot).

The question is how do we manage the signal to noise ratio with our current culture? I think this will be the question of our age and solving it will get us to the next step.

I like blogs. They really helped me learn how to cook, how to knit, and how to do minor home improvements.

They're often written by regular Joes in a casual language. It's like having a casual conversation while learning to do something.

I like that.

I also like blogs, they're written by people just like me and convey information about a subject I may be interested in in a manner I can easily digest.

What needs to get thrown under the bus are things like... well the whole farking Gawker 'network' for one, probably Engadget & co as well. It's one thing to nerd bait, post false or misleading information accidently and write it off as "hey, it's my blog I'm not a journalist"... it's quite another to do the same shiat when you ARE in fact a qualified Journalist do, in fact, have a press pass and play with the big boy journo toys whilst earning a living as a journalist.
